As a retired designer I love seeing all styles. We can always learn from others even as a designer. I think the mistakes people make are trying to follow rules that they think they have to do . Your home is a place where you should become you. Sarah’s home is lovely because it is her personality. Be you in your home. You don’t want a cookie cutter home. It would be boring if you walked in someone else home if it looked just like every home you walked into. We are all different and enjoy different things. Sorry I didn’t mean to get on my soapbox. I just want people to love their home. Sarah has done a beautiful job being her and even if it is not your style you can learn so much for it. Sorry if this is not allowed. Please delegate. I just want everyone to walk in their home and enjoy. God bless.

I love everything you said and totally agree. Beautifully put. My grandmother had a dear friend that was a designer. He always said, “ Make the items in your home look like you have “collected” for your home and not “bought” for your home.

I love the eclectic look. Tht's my style. My house is filled with my lovely treasures that I love. It makes it look rich without the budget. I've been a thifter for 40 plus years and there is joy in the discovery.

Sarah’s October Home was one the first KZfaq channels I discovered…and I was hooked. I agree with you that it is just obvious that she has a kind soul! I love her home and feel so happy for her when she finishes a room or finds the perfect thrifted item for a space. She just seems to be the kind of person that deserves all that’s good in life. 😊 And I hope she gets it!

I’m glad you had Sarah on. I just love her sharp eye when she thrifts and the way she pairs the old with the new is just beautiful. She is also very enjoyable to learn from because of her sweet disposition. I’m glad you still do these each February.

Someone once said to me if you decorate with things you love it will all go together. I have found it to be true. I started ripping pages out of decorating magazines when I was 16 and started a file for different rooms. I refered to it often. It was long before Pinterest....lol I am now sixty five and still have my file. It is a beautiful file basket that can be left out as decor and no one is the wiser that it is full of ripped out magazine pages. I prefer paper over Pinterest. That said, I still enjoy learning things from watching you youngsters. I follow you and both Sarah's. I do get a giggle when you all thrift things that I have had or do have and call them vintage 😊 yes, I guess I am old enough to be vintage too.

I enjoy Sarah very much and subscribe to her channel. There are many things I like but relating to her style I appreciate her use of wood..baskets..plants. Not so sterile. She knows I am ga ga over her big mirror! Also she includes the girls in some decisions. Thanks for featuring her.💐

A few of the most interesting and well done homes have been in are ones where everything decorative (and sometimes the furniture pieces as well) were collected over the years, one piece & one place at a time. Those who travel sometimes have a decorating style with no real name, except perhaps, “a life well lived”!

I think it's interesting to hear you say that your style and Sarah's are totally different because I find them to be very similar. I would say she tends to add more where you add less but the style at the root feels very cohesive to me. Incidentally yours and hers are two of my favorites on KZfaq 😁

I loved her house. I agree with you that we can love and appreciate other people's styles without necessarily wanting the exact same thing in our own homes. I love looking at ALL styles; something always inspires!

I love this share the love series. I have followed Sarah and think her style is truly unique to her vision. That is what makes her home so special. As for your upstairs bathroom. Why keep waiting.... just adding a faux brick wall with a german schmear would take one day! Add a vintage gold framed mirror, a brass wall sconce or candle holder or soap dish... and the space will feel different and updated.

I do love the variety of wood colours. I feel it's an eclectic style, I believe too. Plus love the use of terracotta inside💚🌱 * ooh! And the display case/armoire in the bedroom. I so want something like that!

Loving this 'Share the Love' series. I think I found you throud SHD Sarah but didn't know of Oct Sarah. I will be following her. Love, love her ornate mirrors, the brick, beams, all the beautiful details (candles in the head vases). Her daughters' room is beautiful! Can you have English Cottage without Vintage?? Parts of this seem almost victorian to me. Maybe we need a new style, Victorian Boho Cottage... 🤔😉 Love the way she's blended styles in such a seamless beautiful way!! 👏🥰💕

I love both of your homes. I'm not a minimalist. My walls are very covered. I love country, victorian, farm house and yes I mix it up a lot. Some that come to my house say it's not their style but my home is always cozy and inviting and that's is what makes me happy.

I love Sarah’s style too. Her home is gorgeous. I have a love for old and vintage items. Most of the items in my home are from flea markets, yard sales or they were thrifted.

I love both you and Sarah’s my beautiful sisters in Christ. I love both of y’all’s taste. I feel the same way about my style. Is there a way to describe French, Italian cottage LOL. You’re right there’s always certain things you can pick up from someone else. I’m just going to bring in what I love. All in all I want it curated whimsical in between minimalist and whatever comes after before hitting the maximalist stage lol. Ok I digress I did it again .
