Hey! I Just bought a couple Parker 25 all black pens and your video was very helpful in order to identify the pen model. Thanks!

I know I am late to the party, but thank you for this video! I am new to vintage pens and decided to focus on Parker Pens, for sentimental reasons. I just purchased 3 from Ebay auctions that might be a Hot Mess, but hoping they won't be! I love those arrow clips so much!

I was at school in the 1980s and the 25 was the most desirable pen that anyone school kid could wish for. It just looked so quirky, and modern, but just affordable enough to beg your parents to buy one as a Christmas present . So I am really biased towards this one. It holds fond memories. I bought another one just before they stopped making them. It still works perfectly, very smooth writer, I have treasured it. I hope you get yours working. I like the golden 75 as well. But their all beautiful pens. The Falcon does have the most amazing nib. Thanks for sharing your collection. I really enjoyed the video.

That’s a nice collection. I’m envious of the Falcons, and particularly the 75. I’m a big fan of the 17, 21 and 45 as great everyday writers. The 61 is also a really attractive pen. I’m lucky enough to have picked up one in burgundy with the Consort gold cap, which is one of the classiest looking pens I have. I’d definitely recommend the 61 to any Parker fans.

The 45 was very popular in Argentina (it was made here), it was the best pen you can have at elementary school in the 70's. I still have my one!

I love your Parker collection.. I have a Vac, and my Dad's 75..i love Parker, the older ones.. although I do have a black and Pearl Duofold that is of the early 2000's.. Well done.. if we ever have another in-person Colorado Pen Show I will be trying to pick up a vintage Parker, and Waterman classic.. be Well! Frank from Boulder, Colorado, us

Each is more gorgeous than the other (25 being an exception).. 51, 61, Arrow or 95, Classic or 180 will cover the remaining part of the “Parker nib Spectrum” !

I love vintage parkers. Like you I also really enjoy the funky nibs. I have a couple of Parker 45s one is just like yours the other is the fully black version, neither of them wrote very well when I got them because they were full of dried ink. Fortunately they are very easy to disassemble and put back together. You pull the nib and feed out by using a tool in the square hole behind the nib and it should come out easily. Soaking the section in hot water beforehand makes the job easier.

I've recently picked up a vintage Waterman pen that's designed similarly to a Parker 51. I find this shape to be perfect. In addition, the nib is stubbish and semi-flexible so it's got plenty of character. I'll definitely be looking more into vintage pens from now on.

1:56 XD Didn't know of Redeem pens before, and thank you for the info on how you acquired your vintage collection; I too got into vintage cuz of how nice they write compared to modern pens at the price you can get them for.

What does it actually mean, a pen beeing "Redeem"?

You can open the Parker 25 and clean it very well without an ultrasonic cleaner. There is a small hole in the bottom, here a video showing how: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpahl8V327DZdJc.html

I have a question... My mom gave me my dads old pen which I found out is a gold plated 75. It has one defect, the cap doesnt seal properly, it slides of. I noti pce some wiggle room when I put the cap on. Do you think its just worn of? Or u think theres a part of the cap missing?
@allrightsreservedwithoutpr7589 Жыл бұрын
The 75 has a cap made up of 5 different parts: the cap clutch, the inner cap, the outer cap, the clip and the clip screw that holds it all together. Your Dad's pen definitely has a cap clutch which needs to be bent back into position so it holds the pen nice & snug. "All," you need to do is "just," remove the clip screw to access it. This task can range anywhere from being super easy to the complete opposite of that. Get two of those thick rubber bands you see on the broccolis at the store to aid in gripping the outer cap and using the second rubber band for gripping the screw... And unscrew it. Again, it could require very little force to unscrew it or it could require Herculean strength. Before anything though, you need to soak your cap in water to remove all the ink it may potentially have. Ink can sometimes hold parts together like glue so getting it all wet is enough to remove any adhesive force the dry ink may be applying. Also you don't need to super clean all the ink out of it, just enough to get any hidden dry ink wet. So let's assume it requires Herculean strength: then to help you remove it run it under hot tap water. The hottest you should go is water that's just a bit too hot to the touch. Get the cap nice and hot for a minute or two to loosen the parts up, then quickly dry it, get your rubber bands and try to unscrew it again. Try a bunch of times because it'll hopefully loosen a little more and more every time you try it. Once you get the screw off it's easy to fix it! Just let everything fall out and get the cap clutch all by itself = ) THEN simply bend the 4 little metal legs towards the center little by little. Every time you bend them a little, reassemble the cap completely and test it to see if it's got the desired amount of grip= ) it's very tedious but totally worth it if it's your Dad's pen= ) look up Parker 75 diagram to see what I'm talking taking about and ask me any questions okay! GOOD LUCK!

What happened to Parker? All their modern pens are borderline terrible (not even borderline in the case of the contemporary IM).
