I just started the Yorktowne set for my son. I've started a hope chest for him and have taught him from the start most household goods that are older are better. He loves the set. I was shocked to find almost a compete set with serving bowls and a pitcher, platter and casserole dish. I even found the coffee mugs, creamer, sugar bowl, gravy boat and candle stick holders. They are nice and heavy dishes that don't chip like the ones do today. I'm excited to continue the hunt for more pieces for him. Funny thing about vintage is anything over twenty years old is truly vintage. I'm trying to teach my son the true value of things and not just to throw things out if they aren't exactly in trend, to understand that we trade our time at work for money to buy things and that time can never be purchased back. When you start to look at things through that lense purchasing things takes on a whole new meaning. I was trying to narrow down if these are stoneware, earthenware or ironstone, do you know which one?

Also just subscribed! My mom bought this set in the sixties when I was a teenager, so I grew up eating on them. They were our everyday dishes because they were so durable. They were actually considered colonial style which was a popular style then and now has kind of country/farmhouse. The older dishes are a warmer white and the newer a cooler tone. Yes, nothing is made as good as it used to be. The dinner plates are not as big on the older dishes because people did not eat as large a portion as they do now. Now dinner plates are huge. The tea cups are actually coffee as well because most people still drank their coffee out of that size cup. I think the mugs came out later. When my mother who is 94 now went to a nursing home I gave the dishes that were left to my daughter who is probably your age. I have been thrifting more of them for her set. I love your home and the fact that you love those dishes. We had so many meals on them at the kitchen table and so many memories.

Hi this is Diane again. I’m sorry for the long post. I forgot to asked if the color of the 1960’s heritage dishes are also different than the 1970’s dishes. I haven’t even seen any of them in person. I can’t wait to go thrifting. You have inspired me. I also just read Nancy’s post. She has also inspired me to me because in the 1980’s I purchased the tea rose pfaltsgraff. I had just about everything they produced. But most of my dishes cracked and chipped. I thought I would never buy pfaltsgraff again. Well thanks for your channel. You really have a gift for making it informative and fun.

I just found the same pitcher today at our local Goodwill for $3.50 and because of you I knew it was special. It now lives on my counter and holds a beautiful bouquet. I love it! I'll be looking for more pieces to build a collection of my own.

Andrea, you inspired me to start a collection. In fact, I just left our local antique store and I found a set of a teapot and 4 cups/saucers Pfaltzgraff collection for $42. I have no idea if that's a good deal or not but I wanted something that looks aesthetic but functional. I personally don't like to collect things that would just sit there collecting dust. I'm gonna use for my tea and hot chocolate with my two little boys. I also got 3 white pitchers to put on my hanging shelves with this set and can't wait to put greenery in it for Christmas. Thank you for the inspiration. When I have my forever home in 2 yrs after my husband retires from the military, I'm getting a hutch to display my collection ☺

Hello, I actually found this video several months back while sitting in a Goodwill parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. I had walked away from a large and smaller oval serving plate and a round serving bowl. I was also drawn to them but didn’t put them in my cart. They were price under $3.00 each. I watched your video and I haven’t stopped collecting since. I have thrifted every single piece of my collection and I was so blessed to have found as much as I did so quickly. I finally found the pitcher but I am still on the hunt for the taller coffee/tea pot. I refuse to buy it off eBay, lol it makes it all the more exciting! With all that said, I didn’t subscribe to you at the time because I was on a mission to go back in and buy those pieces. However, I did find you again through Kristin Hoffman’s channel when you all went on the girls trip and I’ve been following you ever since. I also collect the Currier & Ives but so far I haven’t decorated with them yet. I absolutely love your channel and I love how you decorate. Sorry for the book here, just wanted to share how your channel came back to me. God bless! 🙏🏻🙌🏼

This makes my heart so happy! I’ve been collecting Heritage for several years as well. Since moving into our new home, I haven’t yet found the right furniture pieces for our dining room to display, so they’ve been living in my son’s bathroom closet hahaha. So happy to have found your sweet little video. Love love love these dishes❤️✨✨✨

New subscriber here....I love collecting dish sets! My Blue Willow started as a gift from my parents after I married. Long before I married I came across the blue and white Currier and Ives in a Salvation Army thrift store....little did I know that my future MIL had the same set, so when she passed away I inherited hers to add to my collection! My third set is Pfaltzgraff Yorktowne (also blue and white.....a common theme among my dishes), the dishes my husband and I chose when we married. I continually look for more pieces for each of my three sets when ever I go thrifting!

Love the quality of the older Pfaltzgraff. I like some weight to my mugs and dishes. The quality is definitely noticeable. I have a newer pattern “Naturewood” that is my everyday dishes and though I love the look, I still drink my coffee out of the older mugs. We have our soup out of the bowls as well. The white does go well with my Naturewood , so I mix patterns. I love your shelves. You really have displayed your finds beautifully. Thank you for sharing the history .

Hi. First-time viewer here. I found your channel tonight while doing a little research on the Pfattzgraft Heritage set. The design and quality of this set are so gorgeous. Thank you for the fantastic brief review of the line. I got extremely lucky yesterday and scored a lightly used Pfaltzgraff Heritage serve for 12 dinnerware set from the 80's with 2 serving bowls, a serving platter, and a party platter for $50 from Facebook Marketplace. The set is so beautiful. I feel really lucky to call it my everyday dinnerware. I'm looking forward to dressing the set up for the holidays. Thanks for your awesome review of this gorgeous set. You helped me make my choice and I thank you for that. Subscribing to your channel now. Be well. Have a great night :D

You can’t imagine my delight when I walked into the St. Vincent DePaul in Jackson, MI and found 54 pieces for $19.99. OMG be still my heart. I scrubbed them with Bar Keepers Friend and they look amazing. One question for you. Do you put yours In the dishwasher? Any tips on care and cleaning?

Hi my name is Diane. I have been researching these dishes for days now. I know the tall castle marker on the back of the dishes were made from 1963 to 1969. Then pfaltsgraff changed the marker to a small circle with a small castle inside in the year 1970. I’m looking at some dishes that have the small circle. I notice that these dishes are less expensive. Now my question I have for you is- Is there a difference in quality, thickness, or weight between the 1960’s dishes and the 1970’s dishes. I hope you can answer this question because anyone who can. And I googled everywhere I could. Also the dishes I’m looking to buy with the small circled castle were bought in 1994 for her wedding. So I’m assuming these dishes were sod until 2005 when pfaltsgraff sold the co. And now are produced in China..

Question... I have found a few of these beautiful dishes at goodwill also .... I’ve looked online & cant seem to find the dates for the dishes stamped with the castle in the circle. It’s smaller and it does say USA but I’m thinking it’s a later production?? Any idea?
@PineandProspectHome
@PineandProspectHome 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sandy!! I have some like that too, and I am in the same boat. I could not figure out when the dishes with that stamp were made. They do say USA which is awesome, and in my opinion they look exactly like the ones with the castle stamp (that's not inside the circle). I should have mentioned that in my video!

My sister has the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry pattern and apparently the new pieces are made in different factories in two different countries, and the pieces made in one of the countries matches her older pieces and the pieces made in the other county is poorer quality and the paint is not an exact match. A year ago I purchased three pieces for her Christmas gift and we had to return two of the three due to flaws and one of the replacement pieces was also flawed. Very disappointing.
