This exceptionally rare color vintage film, produced by the Santa Fe railroad, details the companys contribution to the war effort.

Why did Loaded For War get to be seen in There Goes A Train?

At 4:06, I had to look that up to find it was an M10 tank destroyer. They weren't delivered until late spring of 1942, though, so there is no way they were being loaded up at the end of 1941.

11:31 “It wasn’t all that long ago that the steam engines ruled the rails.” 1:52, 1:15 14:47 “In fact, it worked just as well for the old steam engines... as it does for Genesis today.”

You'd probably get arrested or put on a watch list as a potential spy for paying such close attention to train movements including filming and photography given it was wartime and the sheer number of military shipments going on. People didn't joke about security back then.

@@TrainFan119 During Desert Shield and the lead up to Desert Storm, military trains were not an uncommon sight on the UP (ex MP) Fort Worth Subdivision heading towards Houston. In fact, during the annual fireworks display and 4th of July festivities one night on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, a military train just happened to pass through campus. I hear tell the crowd went nuts in cheering.
