Impressive! I want to make one for my husband and it's been a year, it's still in the form of fabric and threads in the closet..... haha.... But watching your video is giving me a little motivation and confidence. Maybe I will try to get this pattern! :) Thank you!

That was so great to see you go through the entire pattern process. I've been sewing with patterns since I was about 12 and they still sometimes confuse me, especially now since upcycling and knocking off patterns lends more to making it up as you go. You did a great job with the vintage instructions!

My mom always had me iron her pattern pieces before she laid them out - which I loved to do. Then she was sure that her fabric was cut accurately. Also, the pattern tissue then had a little static cling and would stay flatter on the fabric as she pinned the pattern on.

Foolish question, but why cardboard as a pocket stiffener? I can't imagine using a paper on a robe, because I do occasionally wash mine. Is it aimed, because of the fabric, that it'll be dry-clean only? Or did I miss when you swapped cardboard for a stiff interlining? Thank you for answering my confusion! 😊

You can iron the pattern pieces, on a cool setting to take out the folds in the pattern, next time.

Downtown Cobbler, I never thought of the age of the pattern. I’ve ironed new patterns but I’ve never worked with vintage.

It might be a vintage pattern, but it looks exactly the same style as the robe I’m wearing right now. It’s not like they have changed much over the years, short of the material they’re made of.
