Happy 2024! Hope everyone's having a great start to the year!
This episode, I service another vintage Rolex 1603. Pretty watch, aged really well and a good example of the engine turned bezel in amazing condition. Many 1603s out there have really tired bezels which have been through countless polishing attempts taking away the beautiful deep relief pattern on them.
I am happy to have completed this job, cleaning, oiling and adjusting with some minor polish to prepare it for another stretch of timekeeping duty.

That's the good thing about a mechanical watch, look after it and it can last a life time. Nice sympathetic restoration.

Thank you. Use it Long enough and parts have to be changed, made and replaced. Owner has to make the call and decide if it is worth it. But I agree with you, if looked after they would last a really long time, even beyond our lifetimes.
