Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for watching another video and sending your very sweet message and prayers for my brother. Just to let you know, I was pretty informal having just my younger sister yesterday for Thanksgiving (a day early). She wanted to see other friends from up here in the Twin Cities too and treat them to some of my leftovers. She has several single friends, like herself and they had no where to go. So my table was not fancy, but nice and warm though. I had fresh turkey that we always order from our local meat market and it tastes wonderful. I make a large roasting pan of dressing that my family has always loved--something I made up myself years ago and don't really measure ingredients. So we also just have a vegetable, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, sometimes sweet potatoes, and often a fruit salad. Then we order 2 wonderful pies from a restaurant that makes all their food, very homemade and fabulous. This year I ordered a pumpkin pie and a mincemeat pie! That was my sister's request. Our mom used to make a very good mincemeat pie. The restaurant's was very tasty--perfect! So that's it, no fancy dishes. It's a lot of work for me mostly. I make the dressing the night before and just heat it before dinner. I hope that just gives you a picture of our quiet dinner. My brother would have been served a turkey dinner today and the senior transitional facility. We did talk to him yesterday. He is very weak and struggling to get up and walk. He's lost 50 pounds since June because of dizziness that they didn't figure out all this time. He just couldn't be up long enough to cook for himself, but doesn't want much help and doesn't want us to take care of him at our house. So he is weaker every month. They are now pushing for him to go the Assisted Living instead of going home because last Friday he fell (with a walker), and got hurt on both arms and a leg because of being lightheaded, he believes. He keeps getting pneumonia. A doctor spoke with me 2 days ago to explain that with older patients, they sometimes end up too dizzy and ill feeling from too many drugs and it's not worth giving them all of those pills if their quality of life is bad. So he's going to take away some of these meds to see if my brother can eat more and get walking more, and not be so dizzy. It's sad to see his decline but he only wants to go back home. It no longer is advised though. He has many health issues. We think we are going to have a very difficult time convincing him he can't go home. His house is very full of vintage and antique furniture and things that we've been trying to sell for months little by little. Thank you for letting me share this and for your prayers for God's guidance in all that we do to help my brother. @@Crazy4Retro Thank you for sharing that with me! I am a simple person and like the simple life so I don't do up anything fancy or formal. Even though it's not fancy it's still good! I was raised in a tiny town and have lived in the country most all my life and that is what I love most. It's interesting to see what others do for holidays and decorating, especially you and Norm. I can tell you both love the Lord and I think that is what draws me and others to you and your channel. We had our daughter and son-in-law, our son, his wife, and their two girls over for Thanksgiving, it's always so nice to have all of them with us on Holidays. I mixed up my dressing the day before and baked it yesterday, I made up a corn casserole the day before and baked it yesterday too, we had a turkey and ham and several other side dishes and I bought a variety cake, it had a 1/4 of 4 different kinds of pound cakes in one cake container. We had a sweet potato pie too. Like you, it's a lot of work for me but my husband helps with the clean-up during the cooking and afterward. I don't like for my daughter and daughter-in-law to clean up because I like to spend that time with them. I so enjoyed hearing of your Thanksgiving dinner :) I will continue to pray for strength and healing for your brother and wisdom for all. God bless and take care

Our Thanksgiving was quiet and we just had it with my younger sister yesterday so she could go visit a few of her single friends that didn't have anywhere to go. We just lost my brother last night. 😪 We went to see him in the afternoon at the nursing home and they had him on oxygen. He talked ok but was very tired. We had no idea that a few hours later, right after dinner, I would get a call that he was not good--low oxygen levels. She called back 3 times and he was gone by 7pm. We were shocked. I'm still emotionally drained today, but we are relieved he is no longer suffering trying to breathe. I had not let our viewers know how fast he was failing in December.
