Great restoration and this Tommy Gunn does look amazing, but I think I still prefer Action Man! :)

Fantastic result! Using a hair dryer on the shoes would soften the plastic and make it easier to put on the feet.

I like the head sculpt on these figures better than the original G.I. Joe sculpt.

I used to have a Pedigree Tommy Gunn in the Grenadier Guards uniform that I found at a doll show. He was only missing his bearskin hat but did have the original dog tag and those boots with the laces. I was quite fond of him and I'm very sad I don't have him anymore. thanks for sharing this video

I had a Pedigree Tommy Gunn before I had an Action Man. I had one with a Karl Gustav rocket launcher, and I also had a set that contained landmines. Good to see this bloke again - although I don't remember mine having Action Man hands. Great video, Dave. Thank you. 👍👍👍 The bits above the boots are 'Gaiters'. 'Puttees', which were used in the first world war, are long strips of fabric that are wound round the lower leg, and tied in place - a precursor to Gaiters, which were fixed in place with buckles. The figure's helmet looks like the new type used by British forces post-war, and through most of the cold war. A sleeker shape than the old WW2 'Battle Bowler'.

Hmmm, I've got a sneaking suspicion that the "Action Man" my parents gave me as a toddler was a "Tommy Gunn"! I did wonder! I'll have to double-check, but i think that's Mystery Solved! Thanks, Dave! 👍

I had no idea this even existed. It’s a really cool figure and I agree that he will look really great amongst your Action Man collection. It’s a good quality looking toy and has its own unique charm. More excellent work on the repairs as always, Dave!👏👏👏

Where I live( NW England) there used to be a toy shop chain called zodiac, and I’m almost certain I had this figure as an enemy to action man. Just a side note ,have worked with plastic in the past, if you are worried it may split, then put un warm water to soften it with constant checking to see how soft you require.

Great vid again,restored a zodiac t gun a few weeks ago and fixed up the 58 webbing from my original tommy who was sadly lost in a skydive accident in the mid 70s who remains in bits in a box,always thought the original tommy uniforms were far better made than action man,still have most of the guards uniform,the paratrooper uniform on my other zodiac doll and the mine detector bits and the Carl gustave which sadly no longer fires,made up the webbing from 3 broken sets I'd got over the years,wish I had superglue in the 60s to 70s.

I had Tommy Gun way back in 1968. In many ways it was better than Action Man. The kit was excellent. I still have the M1 Garand, sadly not much else.

did you really get kicked out of forums for wanting to repair vintage figures? these are the reasons i stopped going to forums 5 or 6 years ago. a lot of other toy collectors are frankly Dbags.

Very good restoration as always. Not sure about that helmet. Looks more Japanese or North Vietnamese army than British commonwealth tin helmet.
