Yep. I use my Bearcat 210 and 800XLT daily. They’re great for aircraft, marine and railroads. Nice repair video here. 👍

Excellent video! I have a bc140 and a bc145xl. Great little scanners. Crazy to think this guy probably spent way more than the cost to buy another one just like it getting it fixed. I bought my 140 on eBay for $13 shipping included.

Excellent video! This video greatly helped me solve some scanner issues, and helped me finally identify the type of antenna I had, “push in” type. I to thought I had a broken BNC Port. You definitely saved me so $$! Thank you!

Mike thanks for another great video. In general what is the lifespan of an electrolytic capacitor in your experience? Also, is there a difference in electrolytic lifespan in a power supply vs. signal path? Or is it just age and temperature that kills them? -Andy

I've been looking up radio scanner videos. I was happy to come across your vid. I gave it a thumbs up. What I am really searching for is for a vid that might explain how to modify a scanner to start scanning every band. Granted, there migh be legal issues if someone made a video like this. Do you know of any videos that might touch upon this subject? Or, videos that explain the guts of a scanner, so that it might be possible to make modifications to listen to other bands?

I have one of these and when you turn it on it does nothing.. but when you turn it back off the channel will flash and then go right back off... Seems like a power problem not real sure what's causing it though... Could be though power/ volume knob?

Your videos are great. I collect scanners and fix them as a hobby. I have one of these models and that glue is a pain. I have noticed with the early Uniden brand scanners depending on where they were made can make a difference on workmanship. The Electra company BC1,BC2,BC3, and BC4 crystal types I use for monitoring. I also use the old Regency crystal types as well. Old scanners it's common to find bad soldering, no soldering, and same goes with the glued types. My question for you is if a person wanted to use a glue like they originally used what would you suggest ? 73

same exact diode corroded inthe one i have. is there a specific voltage or rating for it ? trying to order a few of those diodes, want to make sure I get the correct ones. looks like a 4 or N printed on some of the other diodes like that one.

You ever work on a xts1500? Have one from surplus and it isn't a loss if it doesn't work. I suspect something failed on the board but my trouble shooting yielded nothing but I suspect it is. If you ever wanna have a go at it like my comment
