A Webra Silverline .61 glow engine test run. A lovely old ringed engine of the cross-flow scavenging design, made in Germany.
The engine is fitted with a 11 x 7 Master Airscrew Prop and the fuel is 7% Nitro, and 20% oil. The oil is a 50/50 synthetic and caster mix.

Mark ---- Looks and sounds good . If purchasing one on line not really able to look into port at the piston , to turn it over, and you saying no longer available , may just pass it up. Do you know if there is a place to get parts for them --- then it might be worth taking a chance on buying one? A good Tip ---- If fuel line fitting has two barbs on it to grip the hose --- a PLUS. i wonder if someone makes these? Might be worth swapping out a single barbed one for a double one. I usually get my spare parts for old engines from ebay, either from whole engines, or parts sold separately

Thanks for the video I have a .61 nitro motor with a used Carl Goldberg staudacher extra 300 You really helped me with getting the prop size correct. I tried a 13/8 and a 12/7 wood prop. I’m about to switch to an 11/7 plastic one and hope to get it running as well as yours. Also I’m running 10% nitro. Is that enough?

Glad I could help, and pleased you liked the video. Yes, 10% will be fine I am sure, althouth it will depend a little on the make of engine, many of the older European engines were designed to run on low Nitro content.

Hello Mark the Webra Engines comes from Austria not to Germany.

You will find the earlier Webra engines were made in Germany, as you can see in the video this is embost on the crankcase. At some point around the 1970 I belive they opened a plant in Austria, and had both running simultaniously for a time, but eventually the German plant was closed. Sorry I don't know the specific dates. But this enging clearly showes in the video it was a German one.
