" LeBron James pushed away elimination, right along with any defender who tried to stop him.
He wasn't going to let another season end in Boston. The Eastern Conference finals, and his chase of an NBA championship, are headed back to Miami for a Game 7.
James had 45 points and 15 rebounds, overwhelming the Celtics and leading the Heat to a 98-79 victory Thursday night that forced the decisive game."

Imagine growing up your whole life dreaming to be in the NBA, finally making it, only to see the death stare from a player like Bron or Jordan, or get 10 3’s drained in your face by Steph Curry even tho you were right there.. knowing you could do nothing to stop the other guy from going off.. has to be an amazing thing to witness

Probably my fav. LeBron playoff performance of all time because if he doesn't step up to the plate in this game, I'm not sure his legacy would be the same today almost 9 years later. People have to remember there were questions from the outside about Bron's toughness and ability to step up in big moments. That along with Pat Riley deciding that if they lost to Boston he would break up the Big 3 makes this a game for the ages!

I remember the night i watched this game on live TV, lights were off and i was standing cheering as quite as i could because i worry about people hearing me. I was so happy tho. 2012 bron was such a revenge player, he was focused on getting that ring and this game was the perfect example.

People don't understand the importance of this game to LeBron's legacy. We will not view LeBron as it is today if he didn't win this game. He was under so much scrutiny and pressure from the media, fans and his peers to get over the hump, and he made it through.

The Miami superteam was officially exposed at this point. They had lost the previous finals in embarrassing fashion and the Celtics that gave LeBron so much trouble in Cleveland took his shiny new Heatles Big 3 to 7 games, and was poised to close them out. He would shoulder all the blame for it too. It was ALL on the line. He would possibly be considered a bust as well.

If he played with this mindset every year, we could be having different discussions rn, maybe could have 5 rings rn. I understand not everyone can repeat the shooting but the mindset to go out and kill the opposition relentlessly is something that he should have carried over

i think this one is more impressive because of the context. his career was at stakes on this game. 22 year old lebron didn't have much to lose at that point of his career, but it was still impressive.

How is KG going to say that the NBA had a agenda when his team was getting their back blown out by Bron for 3 quarters. Like he was 11/12 at one point bro. 99% buckets. 1% free throw literally. Cooking folks. You can use old age, injuries or being overpowered by the big 3 as a excuse for this loss, but refs? The league? Nah son

7 years later and still the *greatest* game in LeBrons career. All the criticism he faced back then was legit. “Lord of the Ringless”, “LeChoke”, all the backlash from being the hero in Cleveland to the villain in Miami. This game single handedly saved his legacy and is a great example of LeBron with the “killer instinct”.
