@@tofutoph That was certainly surprising considering how good their roster and bench were. Amazing at Boston, unbelievably inconsistent on the road. For context, Atlanta had been a perennial lottery team, lowest attendance of any team for years. Snuck into the playoffs that year got crushed games 1 and 2 against the massively favored Celtics big three. Heading into game 3 no one gave the Hawks a chance that game, people thought the arena would be empty, but lo and behold the atmosphere was absolutely electric and Joe Johnson and the Hawks put on a show at home, where they won every game and extended the series to 7 games. Joe really lifted the team from perennial punch line to a long stretch of respectability, too bad they had a lame duck coach or they would have likely had more playoff success with Joe. One of the great players of the 2000s and early 2010s

@@BaseHeadSports bro what are you going to on about. Hawks missed the playoffs every year from 1999 when they traded mookie and Steve Smith until this season from the video above. Dion Glover, Jason Terry, Shareef never made the playoffs with the Hawks. It was an 8 year streak, 7th longest playoff drought in NBA history and easily the longest playoff drought in team history. As a fan of this team those were easily the most miserable seasons in team history with the Isiaha Rider debacle, the Shareef for Pau Gasol debacle, the playoff guarantee debacle, and then trading JT for Antoine Walker. It was a stretch of historic ineptitude and Philips was perpetually empty. Joe Johnson really gave the team life and this series was a huge turning point from being a punchline to an actual NBA franchise again
