Hey George. Nice glasses my friend. Love Lara Nyro (pronounced Nero 😁). I have 7 of her records, great singer/songwriter. Also love Roy Harper, very hard to run across his albums over here. Those Pablo recordings never disappoint. Always well priced. Great selection this week. Hope you’re getting some golf in with some nice weather. Cheers.

Hi George. Laura Nyro was a great songwriter. I love the cover versions of her songs that the Fifth Dimension did, especially Sweet Blindness which my son loved when he was little. I've been streaming Stormcock this year, good album. I really like Tutu, I got my copy in Oxfam a few years back. Marcus Miller did some great keyboards on Kate Bush's 'Never for Ever' album.

Eddie Davis with Tommy Flanagan! I love those Pablo records - the black and white covers really set them apart. Ella looks great too. I was wondering about Kenny Dorham's singing when I saw that re-issue; sounds like he didn't really knock you out with his vocals. At least he gave it a shot. I did a "How'd That Go?" episode featuring Laura Nyro's "Stoned Soul Picnic." She wrote some great songs. Thanks for showing the records!

Thanks Randy yip I really like those Pablos great value and great sounds. Kenny dorham well I’m not the biggest fan of male jazz singing but this is a grower. Laura nyro didn’t know too much about her but definitely an interesting musician and one of to look out for.

Laura Nyro (/ˈnɪəroʊ/ NEER-oh;[1] born Laura Nigro; October 18, 1947 - April 8, 1997) was an American songwriter and singer. She achieved critical acclaim with her own recordings, particularly the albums Eli and the Thirteenth Confession (1968) and New York Tendaberry (1969), and had commercial success with artists such as Barbra Streisand and the 5th Dimension recording her songs. Wider recognition for her artistry was posthumous, while her contemporaries such as Elton John idolized her.[2] She was praised for her emotive three-octave mezzo-soprano voice.[3]

Curious if you're picking up any of the Pablo reissues from Analogue Productions? Also, wondering what are these fibrous inner sleeves you have goin here...? Cheers!
@scottspinner12 ай бұрын
Hi Michael no I’m not going to get any Pablos from ap. there’s too many reissues just now. And I think the originals hit the spot money wise. Those are M. A. Inner sleeves probably the best you can buy. Available in the uk.

@@scottspinner1 I have a handful of the original Pablo 2x45rpm reissues that AP did back in the day. They are utter standouts in my jazz collection. Happy to see a few more of those Pablos that are hard to find these days (or hard to find in good condition). Love the inner sleeves. And always a joy to see your pick-ups. Until next...
