This event is like a carboot sale except that people just leave their stuff for the auction to sell. It was the first time I had found good records at this regular event - and picked up at bargain prices! Gav, I see you have posted some videos - welcome to the VC. I have watched your 'My 1st album' vid - really good. Subbed.

Thanks, Andy. Yes, good stock for buttons, have to be happy with that! There are some decent records in the other lots I bought too. I will price at the low end so hopefully there will be some happy buyers.

Well done Richard, really nice box of records. I love that Skynyrd album and that Man looks excellent. The stand out for me, that I haven’t got is The Skids album. I can understand you being really happy about finding the Elf. Really enjoyed your video. Mike

Thanks, Martin. I am really happy to find Elf - will be giving it a play tomorrow. I will give the Man album a listen too - I don't know it but that sleeve is quite something.

Looks like a great place to go digging Richard. I'm a big fan of the concept of personal grails - I've picked up a few myself recently. I don't think I've ever clapped eyes on an Elf record.

I had looked at records put in previous auctions held at the hall - not found anything worth buying. To find three boxes of good stuff this time was a big surprise. One box I did not show included Soul II Soul albums and a large number of Culture Club/Boy George albums, singles and picture discs. The other box had about 20 albums including Queen, Rainbow, Eagles and ELO. The Elf album is the big winner though, not seen this at any fairs. Thanks for watching, James.

You need to get rid of the Inner paper sleeve get a polypropylene sleeve they do fit inside the sleeves as well

Yep, it's the big winner. I was happy that no one else in the room knew anything about records - the bidding on that lot started at £5 and the person who bid against me dropped out at £8!

A very nice way of selling stuff locally and for a good rummage, well done. I seem to remember buying Best Of Rainbow for a fiver with a view to giving it a whirl then maybe barter material for the record fair. I think I saw it for sale at the record fair priced at £15, is that about right? I too have never seen that Skids best of but I don't think I've ever seen and Elf ever!! Maybe I wasn't looking too hard ; ). 👍

This is an alternative to car boot sales - people turn up on the day and leave their items for the auctioneer to sell rather than those people standing in a muddy field at 6 a.m. to deal with it! There were very few buyers at this auction and those that did buy were clearly dealers/resellers who were picking up all sorts of goods for next to nothing. The Best of Rainbow double album is a £tenner in this World. Discogs median for that Elf album is £38 so if you do see it in good condition for much less snap it up quick!

Awesome..absolutely nothing for me.....but I know they’re all pretty sellable, I’ve even seen ‘Hot Space’ go for £10.00-£15.00 nowadays which 5 years ago would have been unthinkable!

Thanks, Harris. Yep, some good stock for buttons that I will price low so hopefully buyers will be happy too! Another of the lots I bought there includes 12" - in particular a Culture Club/Boy George collection.

Bargain! All records should be one pound anyway. Just to avoid any confusion. I have times when I refuse to pay more than £1 you know for instance charity shops have gone a bit mad. Similarly it's funny when they overprice the known artists and want nothing for the others which are actually worth more.
