The Mars Volta & Deadwing for just $1... Besides that Sigh vinyl (according to Discogs) only cost around $100 and is limited to 300 copies, but now we know there's only 299 left.

@@GabrielWorlow - No, they are going for $10,000 and that's if you are lucky enough to even see one for sale. If you can point me in the direction of a copy for $2,000 I will buy it this second and give you a $100 finders fee. It's a joke, all of those records in the dollar bin are pretty collectible and kinda expensive. The black guy at the counter is the owner of the Flaming Lips album (or his friend is, I can't remember).

I have a few thousand LP's now, but I still like to hit the "two for a dollar" section to "discover" unknown stuff. I actually use the coer art and the list of instruments listed (if available) to get an idea of what's on the record. I was batting about 30% with the rest being throwaways, until I started using my smart phone to look up the albums. :) Now I'm at about 80%.

If you are going to use the staples, they'll ruin the grooves, so it's best to put them all within the same song so you only ruin the one song. Glad to be of help!

Definitely my favourite episode in the series. Dereck scooping all the $ dollar bin records and washing the records on the car are particular highlights. Also - 420 degrees? Atticus is definitely blazing it with some of his methods... ;)

Super score with the Longinette Symphony - definitely worth the time. The microwave works best - less fats, so much healthier for your vinyl.

The use of the Vinyl Flat as a weight was clever. Nice lil dig on the DIY methods. I'm sure the glass can work, but I'm guessing a few hundred for the Vinyl Flat is easier and better.

(SECRET: The records arrived trashed in the mail many years ago. The seller offered a replacement. So, it's actually two different sets. I never threw the broken ones away because it was so stunning how destroyed they were. Don't tell anyone how we did our cheap special effects)
