Engineer and Vinyl were the best battle. He wasn't about upstaging her like the others, which was more about ruining the other and was more like a cooperative fellow band player. As the song said, don't hold back and he let her get her groove on so they could both go all out. They both let each other go back and forth as they actually enjoyed it as a hardcore sport than a competition. The best kind of opponent you could ask for.

I'm no longer one of the Bronies in the fandom, but I keep coming back to this for the absolute vibes. Thanks for making this all those years ago.

I doubt that I'll ever get tired of this vid, the music is great, the animation, amazing, story is impressive for the time constraint at the time, and all around this video will always be a gem, granted an unpolished gem, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just means it had and has potential, even to this day. I'm not gonna ask for a sequel of this for a number of reason, just thought it'd be nice to remind you Shadow that a lot of your works are still loved and being enjoyed to this day.

Can we just appreciate how unfair this dj contest is for most new djs. Sure, sniper and soldier are pretty basic Djs and are the bottom of the list. But let's look at the rest Engineer, with gunslinger, which is probably faster then a standard hand could ever hope to be. However that's not to bad given it's just a hand and the need of the whole arm can be a thing. Rainbine, a Cyborg rainbow dash. Rainbow dash is already a fast athletic individual, so a cybernetic version is bound to be extra levels of fast and agile Cybernetic arm heavy. Sure he didn't compete but like with the engineer such an enhancement, specially with it being his entire arm, helps reduce the limitations of the body and probably allows him to mix it up pretty fast, specially sense he'd only really have to train one arm's speed, with the other able to keep up to his desired mental reactions not the limitations of his physical body. Then you have the two highest ranking DJs being scouts. Scout being a fast and agile class, means these two where already great for this kind of competition, but they refined their abilities to the point they can out play CYBORGS. To win a competition like this, you basically HAVE to be vinyl scratch, or Vinyl Scratch's daughter.

An interesting story that brought to light a competitive venue I had honestly not considered before. I enjoy this video and keep coming back to it because it has good story, excellent voice acting and wonderful animation.

That's a very well made SFM production! Granted, whenever there's a speaking part, most of the time, whoever is speaking is either shown from the back or not shown in frame at all, but that doesn't matter. We all came to see Vinyl kick ass at those DJ remixes, and she of course did not disappoint at all! Quite enthralling! Bravo!

Even years later I love this video and animation the voice acting, and the animation really are impressive and even the new stuff also gets me like super hyped.

This was really good. A bit sharp on the movement in the animation. And of course the mouth movement was almost non existent. How ever, out side of these two minor details, this was one of the better MLP animations I have ever seen. This is saying a lot as I am very critical on any content I come across. So bravo on this great piece.

I remember barely getting into mlp and this video being my absolute fav, I looked it up and searched for 20 min to find it again and I’m so happy I did

What I find cool is that this was made years before there was an actual episode where Tavi and Vinyl actually play a song together in mlp. It’s like Shadow just knew they would be a good duo in performing music before they even showed it on the actual show. I was like, “holy crap, Shadow somehow just made something that was a legit thing in the show years before it came out!”
