There must be a neuroscientific reason for this. But there was something about tracks like this with a synth hook/riff in the higher frequencies that worked really well on MDMA, it always seemed to intensify the effects of the drug for me. I reckon that's partly the reason why Italian piano tunes became so popular as well. They just seemed to sound even better when I was under the influence. Bass sounded nice on a good PA system, but it didn't do anything for me when I was pilled up.
