Congrats on the house! Showing a lot of great records that I need to get to know more. You definitely had the best answer for cover you'd like to be a part of. Thanks for the mention, too.

You're the first to mention the cover thing lol! Thanks re: the house. I love it, feel very fortunate to have been in a position to get a great little house in a great neighborhood in south Minneapolis.

Awesome video. Rob came up with some great questions. I made a tag response too. Obituary! Nice!!!! I feel your Metal side coming back. Go towards the horns. Lol. I need to check out Guided By Voices. The 90s were great. Those were my college years. Gang Of Four!

Thanks Chris, yeah I am in a bit of a metal phase as I find original pressings of stuff I loved ~30 years ago. Bands like GBV that made a zillion albums can be daunting, that's how I feel about Ty Seagall and King Gizzard, at least. Pretty much anything by GBV that's out on Scat Records is pretty great, especially Bee Thousand and Propeller.

Nice to hear you bought a house. Cool gang of Four Peel Sessions; I have never heard those recordings. I think you are right about Back in Black. I just watched Ben's video with Gram Friday. So funny.

It's just 4 songs, but great renditions of them on that Peel Sessions disc. That was a pretty incredible synchronicity with Ben!

Cool to see some House Of Large Sizes love on here. Pac Man fever...I played that at the wrong speed growing up and then saw a remember the 80s kind of VH1 show years later and heard it correctly, Mind blown. May have been my first 45. Love your channel name. I can relate. :)

Just loved hearing you shout out Spot. Absolute hero to me from the first time I heard ‘New Day Rising’ which may be the best/worst produced record ever. The only time I think he sort of killed a record imo was the early St Vitus albums, I always think they need a bit more power. Interesting you say 12” singles were promotional , because in England they were the bread & butter for bands. If you walked into HMV between 83-92 the walls would just be full of 12”s. Although I’m not a fan of 100%, it sounds incredible on the 12” ‘Genetic’ is an absolute killer. My 12” grail is Scratch Acid’s first ep. I’m desperate to find a copy under $50.00 . Great video mate. I loved you Tom Waits video btw. Actually made me by the reissue of ‘Swordfish’

New Day Rising was also my first exposure to Spot. I wouldn't exactly call his productions of Huskers records good, yet it seems like they needed to sound like that, really abrasive with the vocals barely making themselves heard above the din of the guitars. I've been intending to check out St. Vitus for decades now and still haven't gotten around to it...It could be that I'm misunderstanding the point of 12" singles. Like we've discussed before, they definitely were much more prevalent in greater Europe than in North America, but they did exist here. And American groups that toured Europe extensively did seem to put a lot of care into them (Sonic Youth especially, also R.E.M., the Smithereens, Public Enemy). It hadn't occurred to me that they might've been significant income producers for bands, but I can see where that may have been the case. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the Swordfish reissue as much as I did. 16 Shells From a Thirty Aught Six never sounded better imo.

@@brokewithaudiophiletaste6076 We’re going good. We got some overdubs & the final mix coming up in Feb with the band which will be fun & also planning a big Canadia/Niagara/NYC/Japan trip so enough to keep me occupied. Cheers…Ben

I had the Pac-Man Fever record as a kid. Every other song was horrible, so that single is the way to go.
