Beautiful, and well deserved by the gracious and talented Zendaya. I do also agree with the statement at 3:17, but also there were a lot of other actors who deserve a win, sadly there can only be a few. But we're grateful for everyone's work ethic and talent, and we applaud them all for giving it their all every single damn day 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️

You do realize they have given more awards to people of color due to the woke attitudes lately and to be honest look at Hollywood there aren’t that many actors of color taking on bigger roles it seems to always be the same ones and most of them are amazing I’ve seen movies and shows where actors of all races have been passed over and it’s a matter of talent and luck of the draw with roles that bring actors to the Emmy’s Oscar’s and so on.
@davy209
@davy209 Жыл бұрын
@Martin Thomas- I disagree. I haven’t heard of any award whether an Emmy or an Oscar was awarded to a person of color whose performance wasn’t amazing or wasn’t deserving. If Hollywood only awards actors of color for mediocre performances than why did Chadwick Bosman lost the Oscar to Anthony Hopkins or when Kate Winslet won the Emmy over Michaela Coel? The matter of fact, Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar over Angela Bassett literally last month!

I’m blown away that people in the comment section are saying she’s not black or she’s mixed( not false) . Mixed is not a race in itself people. Biracial means…. Of two races. She is black and she is white. Making the statement that she is black, is not false. Neither is saying she is white. She identifies as black based on her personal experiences. You don’t have the right tell someone how identify or what they’ve experienced.

As much as I love Zendaya, I also think it's a shame that Laura Linney doesn't have an Emmy for Wendy!! It was one of the best character arcs I've ever seen and it was so brilliantly acted by Laura. But, yeah... If anyone else had to win that night, I'm glad it was Zendaya. Amazing performance too!
@davy209
@davy209 Жыл бұрын
I think what played a huge factor in Zendaya’s second Emmy win was her episode submission (S2. Ep.5) of Euphoria. Most Emmy voters are, generally, not going to watch every episode of the nominee’s show when casting their vote. That’s why all the acting nominees submit just one episode of their show for Emmy voters to watch and judge on. Zendaya’s episode submission was absolutely amazing and all full showcase of the actor’s talents but that puts Laura Linney at a disadvantage because, in order to fully appreciate her performance in Ozark, one must watch several episodes to really understand her character’s story arc and can fully appreciate her performance. That can be also be said about Melanie Lynskey in Yellow Jackets.

I feel like if the nominees were all equally stellar and deserving, then even if I don’t win, it was still a win. It’s like if I didn’t land a job but I knew I was top 2,3, or 4 in the hiring process. I would only be mad if my peers were not of equally stellar caliber and worse if the winner was someone awful. So, let’s celebrate Zendaya and all the other women in her category are doing just fine without the win.

@@4daluvofnikki it's funny you should ask that. But ultimately that decision is made by wypipo. They made the one-drop rule; you had one drop of black, your ass was black. Period. But, then their children and grandchildren started having that one drop so to ease the guilt and make it sound better they coined the term "biracial". I had a friend born and raised in Africa, but was of white complexion. Earned her American citizenship...she put that she was African American. Technically, that it correct. The government will not allow her to put that, they told her she was Caucasian. 🤷🏽‍♀️ we don't choose, people choose for us.
