"The worst thing that anyone has ever said to me is constantly telling me that I'm not pretty," Viola Davis tells us in the latest episode of our Life Lessons series. "Even though, I'm good, I really am," she adds, holding her hands up. "I feel very confident with myself."
She pauses, before continuing: "But when you say that to someone, I don't think that people understand how hurtful it is. And how not important it is. When you say that to someone, the unspoken word is that you're not worthy - because people put a value on prettiness and beauty, so if you don't have it it's like you have no value."

I love her and I hope I can find the beauty in myself again. After all these years and as a child growing up hearing bullies telling me I'm not beautiful. And I felt that it leave an effect on me as a25yrs old now, that I can't find a way out of all this self hate, negative thoughts that rings incessantly in my mind etc.😢 It hurts when you feel like you are not worthy of anything and the things you hear other's say about you that stuck .

People can be mean and nasty but we all have been made fun of in one way or another but I’ve come to realize that hurt people love to hurt people, I guess they’re trying to feel good about themselves but just know you’re loved by your creator, Father God who loves you with an everlasting love. i remember working at a nursing home, it was i think maybe my third or forth day there and it was a friday most of the staff did not show up for work, i went into one of the patients room and she reached up and held my hand, and asked me is it okay, not knowing that she was asking me for permission to let go. i said yes it is okay. your in good hands, and she breathed in and died holding my hand. someone holding your hand is very important.
