Күн бұрынIn this episode, we travel to Violet Town, in Victoria. We stayed in our campervan at Honeysuckle Caravan Village, where we give you a tour. We take you into town and show you around and things you can do when visiting.
We show you some quick and easy camping meals that you can make on the road when camping.
VIolet Town is a small community where the past is still evident. Major Thomas Mitchell, Surveyor-General of New South Wales, passed through the area in 1836 on his Australia Felix expedition. He noted several streams and chains of ponds and one, where native violets grew, was called Violet Ponds. That site was surveyed in 1838 as a site for a township, alongside the now-called Honeysuckle Creek.
Southern Aurora
Violet Town was the scene of the tragic Southern Aurora train crash on the morning of 7 February 1969, on the edge of Violet Town. The people of Violet Town tended to the injured and passengers when the Southern Aurora train plowed into a goods train. The locals were the first to the scene before any CFA alarm could sound.

The wraps are called a Quesadilla's. I did not know that the Southern Aurora was in an accident. Looks like a lot of interesting little shops and places in Violet Town. Whenever I go to a pub I'm not familiar with I always grab a chicken parma to test the food in the place. I think if the pub can do a good chicken parma then the rest of the food will be good, just my opinion. Great video guys.

Definitely agree with a Parma, Jarmer really tells you about a pub. We found out a lot of interesting things when we visited the town about the history. If you get a chance, definitely go check it out. You could do it in a day or stay the weekend either way we enjoyed being there for the whole weekend Thanks, Regards Deano

For onions, I only just found this out, try having a wet cloth or wet paper towel next to the onion as you cut it. According to what I read, the odour is attracted to moisture! I have tried it and it has worked for me. I am shocking with onions, and have tried everything known to man. I had a wet paper towel and it worked. Don't know if it was a coincidence, but yep it worked for me!

I found it most amusing that the town erected a memorial 4 miles or 6.5 km away from where something happened. 😂😂 But as I saw later, they seem to have a habit

Put a tea towel over your shoulder when cutting up onion..I find that if you are right handed, put the tea towel over your right shoulder and if you are left handed put it over your left shoulder. Sounds absurd but works for me.

It’s was very delicious Michelle and the town was fantastic. It did look so good in the Autumn 🍂 we really don’t know. We do love Daylesford and Castlemaine. In saying that we haven’t explored all of Australia as yet. Do you have any tips where we should retire when we get to that point? Its just practice Delano ,I’m 60 a mother of 5 so that’s a lot of onions I haven’t cried for 30 years Try keeping them in the fridge and don’t pick green ones Onions that aren’t ready

Great show, Adam should cook with NO BUTTER OR CREAM U CAN DO IT...I don't use butter on Sambo's or cooking anymore as they taste the same... The Pumpkin dish looked great why can't somone say the right saying of PUMPKIN...HE should also eat more veg's just a little.. A lady told me her son wouldn't eat veg's I told her to grate them up put heaps of sauce and spices in the meatballs I asked her if he liked it she said yes and didn't realise he ate them..Adam U neeed to do that to Kingdeano... ❤❤❤😂😂😂

Wow I don’t know how to speak properly and I don’t eat enough vegetables. I think this is what you’re trying to say Karen lol 😂 that’s okay with my dyslexia. I’m not the best at saying things correctly. Unfortunately that’s something to do with my brain I can’t control. Lol but I have to admit I do love veggies it’s only fruit that I don’t eat .
