Wait. My friend, Tony, new to the violin, noted the difficulty of “finding” notes without frets. I suggested fingerboard tape.

Beth, I use the TE Tuner but I don’t see where I can set a multiple drone tone.

Thank you so much for the recommendation to use Intonia. I can’t wait to use it when I practice tomorrow. I’m an adult who played between 3-9th grade and am getting back into it. I’ve progressed so well and my muscle memory has been great, but I’m still rusty and the app will be amazing. I just know it. I have a question about vibrato. I was never able to do it as a child, but am starting to get the hang of it now. Do you have advice of how to reduce the stress to hold the violin well enough between the shoulder and chin to reduce the shaking at the scroll when I vibrato? Is that normal or am I doing something wrong? My neck muscles are tighter than they should be when I vibrato, but if I relax I feel like the violin moves too much. Thank you very much!!

Beth has a vibrato course on Soundslice, and a video on KZfaq demonstrating the course. It's one of the best on vibrato courses I've seen, and set with lovely backing music. Her KZfaq video was posted several years ago.

When you talk about using intonia to help with correcting internation problems, are you using it on tuner mode or normal?

When you do the drone in fifths, do you use equal temperament or just temperament tuned to the key?

Hey, Im a complete beginner and Im doing some open string exercises and they work pretty well. I now wanted to put some tape on the violin to start using fingers. The problem is as soon as I place a finger anywhere on the finger board I dont get a sound at all anymore. Im not sure why, I think it kinda sounds like there is no rosin on the bow, but it works prefectly on open strings. Any tip or advice from anyone, viewers included? Im getting myself a teacher next month, but this issues makes me almost unable to sleep at night

That often happens. It's because the right arm starts to tense up when you start to use the left hand. I have a bunch of videos about that at Violin Lab. Would love for you to pop over and check it out.

@@RockStarOscarStern634 true. I understand. But I wouldn't want to delay the hard work of learning the proper way besides you can't slide your fingers past the frets

I’m practicing everyday but I’m still getting some squeak😳in my playing. Is that why violinists practice to get better and overcome the slight squeeking here n there. It prevents my playing from sounding smooth. 😳

In hope you can please PLEQSE respond soon to,my question on your other video about vibrato..please I'm getting really depressed and angry and discouragd with violin...
@risingkhero17144 жыл бұрын
Leif ahhh don’t give up! I remember when i first started learning it, I got so angry too! It took me around 1-2 months to really get it! Just be patient and practice it little by little. I know I’m late but it’s basically just rolling your fingers up and down little bit, very fast. Just watch some practice vids on KZfaq.
