One thing I should mention about my friendly neighborhood's inventory system: the game won't let you discard any keys until you've completely exhausted their usefulness, by that I mean unlocked everything you can unlock with them. So when you click on a key item of any kind and see the 'discard' option pop up, that means you're safe to chuck it and free up some inventory space.
@karmicrespite57378 ай бұрын
You can also tell in this video that 'fully used' items will have a checkmark on them. This counts for most key items (like keys obviously) as once you use the key to open all types, you'll see the circle with a checkmark on the item showing that it's fully used up. I think you only use the boltcutters like twice, if that, so knowing you can toss such a large item without issues helps a lot. Bit faster to look for the mark than individually checking.
@Altoryu7 ай бұрын
@@karmicrespite5737 Yeah this is what bothered me about him complaining about the inventory management since he never figured out that the game actually tells you when the game is done with a specific key item and can just be tossed.

It's probably the best way to go about that kind of thing too, redirect focus to lesser known titles in order to spend one's time in better ways and give the fledglings a better chance at getting their name out there. One of the few things i despised about dark revival was how it gaslit the community, you see joey drew studios were compared to joey drew himself, being egotisitcal and awful to their employees, so in the dark revival they turned joey into a loving sympathic boss who only wanted to do whats best and got lost in the game, aka trying to turn joey drew into a good person so any comparsion of the real life joey drew studios and the ficitonal joey drew was much more favorable. Honestly just by seeing snippets of gameplay, My Friendly Neighborhood seems to be what Dark Revival wishes it could be. Where Dark Revival pretty much stole from Bioshock, Friendly Neighborhood drew inspiration while adding some Muppets charm as a bonus. Where Dark Revival wastes time with pointless stealth, mind numbing puzzles and Hello Neighbor backtracking, Friendly Neighborhood has you think through encounters and respects the player's time and intelligence. Where Dark Revival contrives exposition and plot points to either give an illusion of a story or exist as theory fodder, Friendly Neighborhood is organic with its storytelling and doesn't force the extra world building down your throat.

They are just people with deep trauma that have been abandoned by the people that wouldve helped them. I think the Bendy franchise is a fantastic example of how great art style and presentation can sell a game but it can't carry it too hard where everything else is just... lacking. Don't get me wrong, there are very interesting and solid concepts, and looks really great but it just feels very empty. For a horror game it sure doesn't feel like there is much threat at all (I wish Bendy should've acted more like the Xenomorph from Alien Isolation, where he pursues you throughout the game), the lore doesn't compliment the game at all instead it's just plain confusing for the sake of it, characters aren't well-developed... In the end, I think the game as a whole is perfectly fine by itself (even for Mascot Horror standards) but it almost feels like it could have been something greater. It's a game that seriously benefits from a development team with proper vision and direction in my opinion.

Plus they didn't repeat the mistakes of the first game: *They released the game complete, not episodically. As a result, they had a plan for the story instead of writing it one chapter at a time. *The story is a lot more coherent, no plot holes and everything gets explained. *They kept quiet about the game's production after the first year, last big news we got before release was a new trailer a WEEK before it released. *Bugs and glitches are minimal, and none of them are game-breaking at all. *Improved combat, more emphasis on exploration, doesn't heavily rely on fetch quests.

My Friendly Neighborhood is honestly one of my favorite horror games in recent memory, and probably the best mascot horror game for me. I like how it doesn't do some dark twist with the puppets, like "Oh they're dead kids stuffed in suits" or "Oh they're demons pretending to be friendly!", the puppets are just...puppets who went a bit loopy in isolation and are desperate for friendship from someone. Hell, I love how it takes the logic of the muppet series and has no one question why sentient felt people are a thing, just that they are. Gordon is a fun character who feels believable in the scenario (that and the game explaining WHY he can kick puppet ass like no one else), Ricky is a good antagonist (Not a villain, mind you, but an obstacle), and I appreciate that, by doing the events to pacify the unique enemies, you actually see Gordon's character development through, rather than it being out of place. Even if we don't get a sequel to My Friendly Neighborhood, i'm excited to see what John and Evan Szymanski do next

My main take-away from this video so far is that Slave Zero X is something I am definitely gonna keep my eyes on in the near futute. Just beat the demo and I am itching to play more of it

i'm glad you made me find out about who's lila. it feels like those games from creepypastas where the protagonist gets them from a yardsale of some crazy old man or from a friend who begs them to destroy it

@@CallOfTheDragon885 because the only real good thing about the game in the first place was its artstyle and now its artstyle is literally just the artstyle of another game with a filter over it.

I wasn’t anticipating to hear the words ‘Chip and Skip’ again in relation to the game. It was another horror game, it was fun to watch. I’m sure if you look up the name you’ll find it, I know Manlybadasshero did something with it
