It's not about secularism, Pakistan was pushed towards hardline views to help the US in its fight against the Soviets. This led to many problems. Unfortunately India is today in the same situation as Pakistan of old, the US will push India to hardline views to ready it for a war against China.

@@Mars5637. But we lack basic things. Our sanitation department sucks. Our cities still look ugly. Slums everywhere. Open defecation is still common, despite govt has made so many toilets. Women are still not safe in India. There are many things that we should take care of. Tech and Science isn't everything. GDP per capita of those countries is still higher than India.

In Pak, anyone can criticize the govt openly on media, infact in IK govt, journos used to bash him mercilessly, they give proper coverage to any protests from opposition parties, some channels have their biases with certain pol. parties but there is no such thing as strong lobby like godi media who cant listen to anything agianst the ruling party.

Lol Indians are probably one of the only groups to pinpoint their issues and broadcast it to the world. Otherwise, the world wouldn't know about lack of sanitary pads, r/pe, domestic violence, lack of toilets, discrimination, poverty etc. Every other country hides their flaws and dirty laundry. Indians air theirs out in the open and actually work on it. This is commendable anchoring. it is great to see Pakistanis sharing in the success of India's space mission. As the anchor rightly pointed out we are the same people.
