Aaravos usually corrupts people by offering them what they THINK they want, so what does Callum want so badly that he'd betray his deepest held beliefs to get it. Of course, we've already seen it. He'll do anything to protect his friends, especially Rayla

Look at the different poses. Viren is reaching out desperately, obviously re-enacting Avyzandum’s final moment, but still desperate. Callum seems to be presenting the cube. A far less desperate pose.

You know, this is setting up some good Viren and evil/ misguided Callum, and I wouldn’t hate it. Callum having a villain arc would be insane. Terrifying, but insane. And Viren might end up learning primal magic too…? The cube thing is called the Key of Aaravos, btw Edit: if there are seven seasons, then it seems there would be one for each source of primal magic, and the seventh would be for dark. I’d love it if, at the climax of the series, Viren and Callum accept dark magic. Because, for me, the only grotesque part about dark magic is the killing for resources. So if you didn’t kill things, and just used materials from an already dead creature, it doesn’t seem as bad

@@thedarkbard Thank you for the name! Yeah the villain arc would be so crazy, but i'm here for it. Viren learning primal magic is a whole new perspective! I've never really thought about it. I honestly feel a little sympathy for Viren, i don't know what next season will bring, but i'm so excited!

It's because it's a reference to zyms dad as he turned into stone and Viren they both shed their last tear but he is also still alive in a deep sleep that never ends about 13-20 days left for him. Or it is a reference to the future as if aavavos will turn him into stone and Viren will shed his last tear of betrayal.

I really don’t think he will. He refuses to do dark magic, unless it’s to save his friends (cough rayla cough)… though after Finnegrins Wake.. I know dark magic is going to come back in bite him in the butt season 6.

@@CatztheEquestrian yah I'm sure he won't, but at the same time from Viren's dark magic coma dreams we see that he has just been doing what he thought he *had* to do to "protect his *family* " and it's been implied that Soren got really sick or something when he was a child and Viren had to use dark magic to save him - and in the dream he said he had not choice and did what he had to do. So Viren started off like Callum was, only using dark magic if it was necessary to save those he loves and cares about. But he didn't know where to stop, and went too far. However, Callum does know where to stop, and I believe he won't end up going to extreme lengths like Viren did.

Probably be like a parallel with Viren. They are very similar. Like Vire and Zym's father, Avizandum. They are both fathers willing to sacrifice anything for their children. Viren and Callum are both powerful magicians that have insane potential. But, the difference between them is that, Zan and Calllum both have friends and loved ones to care about. Someone who can pull them away in the right moment, make them realize. Someone worth living and dying for. Viren didn't know he had that, although is eas right in front of him. Did anyone else notice that the last thing to turn to stone for Viren was his eye, but for Callum it was his cube? I wonder what that means? Possibly, just maybe because Viren’s eye was covered with dark magic to be able to see Aaravos and Callum revolves around his cube (his cube being ‘the key to Aaravos’) Edit: Callum got turned to stone once in the season 4 episode intro Through the looking Glass and once in the season 5 episode intro Finnegrin’s Wake!!!! Edit: did you realize that the magical essence, or whatever it’s called, that’s turning them both to stone are different colors!!! Viren’s is a purple and Callum’s is a magenta!!! It’s like both are just chess pieces on opposite sites for Avaaros to do as he pleases with them. And whoever the winner is will most likely end up freeing him only to be backstabbed by him. It’s like playing chess against one self by directing the moves on both sides and whoever ends up winning it will be the same result with an already determined winner.

We've never seen Aaravos take full control over her like he did with Viren and Callum. Claudia for all her faults is pretty pure in her intentions and never has any doubts about using dark magic like Viren or Callum does.
