Great tips on how to make friends! I have 2 solo cruises coming up this year and I’m a little nervous about meeting people to hang out with. Especially since I’m a naturally shy and introverted person.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the tips. Try not to be nervous and just let conversation flow naturally. This also maybe the perfect opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and say hello and make small talk with at least 3 people while your own the cruise.

Regent and Silversea look after their solo travellers extremely well IMHO. Regent tasks the ship's Social Hostess to have daily pre-dinner cocktails with solos and will then accompany the solos to dinner. Silversea tasks the ship's Assistant Cruise Director to do the same. Furthermore, both cruise lines offer either 25% or 50% solo surcharges on certain cruises. It's a pity Virgin Voyages only has half a dozen solo cabins on each ship. It's a great pity that the solo supplement surcharge for a Sea Terrace cabin is +89%. That's discrimination.

I have never cruised with Regent and Silversea, so thank you for the information. As a solo traveler, I love to hear that they have dedicated a program to them and of course I love a good discount :-)

Christmas 2023 I went on my 1st cruise (Royal) with my daughter (her 3rd) I loved it. We are planning the next cruise, but I am planning a solo cruising (Virgin) Thank you for the video.

I have mixed feelings on if I want to let people know I am there solo. I do not have any problem eating by myself...I do that at all the restaurants in my home town

You don’t have to let people know you are solo! You can eat alone without telling anyone. But if you are concerned about being solo and safety, you don’t have to worry about that. The boat is designed to cater to solo travelers and you will be safe

Great tip about the Facebook Groups. Giving it to my Mom who is coming with us as "solo" on Scarlet NYE 2024/25 voyage.

Great video. Just got off VV over Thanksgiving to the DR. Going back in August for Sisterhood at Sea with Addy and Terry. Also part of MAS. Great solo cruiser tips.

I’m DEFINITELY NOT a solo traveler, especially internationally, but I MIGHT consider a Virgin Voyage ( even though I don’t like cruises but I’m curious about this cruise line) if I can get the balls to do it.
