FYI, Brent Pry did not take over for Frank Beamer. Frank Beamer retired in 2015, and Justin Fuente was hired to replace him. Justin Fuente was then replaced in 2021 by JC Price as an interim head coach, from then Brent Pry was hired shortly after the 2021 season ended.

FYI a Hokie is not a Turkey, it’s a made up word from our “Old Hokie Cheer” which was a student submitted fight song from way back in 1896 (originally spelled Hoki). The student admitted the word was made up to sound catchy. The HokieBird is a Turkey because VT earned the moniker “gobblers” because of how much the players ate (contested). Then the HokieBird was born and over the years warped from the long necked Turkey to what it is today.

@@ThisGuyRides Another theory is it came from the call and response cheer the Cadets started with “coni-a-ah”. None of them involve the way cadets ate.

Ali Jennings coming back is going to be a HUGE boost to Tech’s offense. Assuming we don’t walk off the wrong side of the bus (as teams can do in college), I expect us to be potential ACC contenders.

Thank you for mentioning APR. We get our best WR back in Alli Jennings who no one is talking about, and our RB, Bhayshul Tuten, is a monster. I think he's in the conversation as one of the best RBs we've ever had. Fwiw, my best VT RB list would include Lee Suggs, Kevin Jones, David Wilson, Ryan Williams, Khalil Herbert, 2006 Branden Ore, and now Bhayshul Tuten.

Drones got really good down the stretch with accuracy. And he has some really good receivers. The one guy that needs more talk is RB Tuten. He's a human highlight reel

Good stuff guys great breakdown, but if you aren’t impressed with tech receiving corps then you gotta do more research. Easily arguable that they have the best group in the acc. Ali Jennings is easily a #1 receiver but he got hurt in game 2 last year, overall good content but yall missed on the receivers

@buddygohard5948 I would absolutely put Va Techs receiving corps above miami!! There best wide receiver didn't play but 1 game last year and his absence Lane, Felton, and Gosnell showed out.. now put Adein Green into the mix "you will be remembering his name later on I promise" to go with Brody Adams " you be remembering his as well" and Chaz Wiggins for damn sure Va Techs wideouts are better than Miami s.. for damn sure.. bout forgot about Tucker Holiway another straight burner

@JonReebals you acting like Miami didn't have 2 of the top WR's from the acc last season coming back this season, on top of one of the top WR's in brown out of the portal with a top 5 WR in JoJo Trader out of high school ,VT don't hold a candle to our WR's 😂😂😂

FYI, Colin Schlee was 100% a depth piece. After the spring game, our 3rd string QB entered the portal. At that point, we only had 2 scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Hence why we picked up a 3rd in Schlee.

VT is my team in college 25 and the front four defense Is piling up sacks like machines. #44 has a half dozen INTs with several pick sixes. #33 is running wild and my QB is basically maholmes 2.0. We are 5-0 with Stanford up next. I know that's just q video game ... but don't sleep on their real world counterparts

Not a real deep dive if you blow through Rutgers as if that game is an automatic win - Tech got their asses kicked last year and RU also returns virtually the entire team.

@@ruffinoandjoeshowthere is reasoning behind that though. They have 3 legit WRs but due to not starting Drones from the start of the year and not opening up the playbook until halfway through the season limited the numbers. Once those things happened Felton and Lane showed up. Jennings had 1000 yards and 5 TDs in 21 and 959 and 8 TDs in 22 with ODU QBs. In his first game for Vtech he had 72 yards and 2 TDs before getting injured for the year. He is one of the best WR in all of college football.

one a Hokie is not a turkey two Pry did not replace Beamer he replaced Fuente. Three Stanford Miami Clemson look at the schedule... doesn't look good to me and we been losing for a long time but glad to see some hope... also they lost that Notre Dame game no?
