I believe the taxpaying property owner who bought the land has the right to to say you're not allowed on my property. We owned land we sold it, one reason is hunters trespassing, we bought our land for us, not them. The hunters right to retrieve a wounded prey on private property IS allowed only IF given permission by the property owner. Period.

Pretty easy fix. If you dont have permision to hunt or go on spmeones property then dont, Dont drop off your dogs on front of property you dont have permission to hunt, if you dog "wonders" on to someones property follow the rules in the hunting manual, politely go and ask the owner for permission to go and retrieve your dog, leave your gun in the truck, get the dog and leave and be respectful. Dont try tp bully landowners cause they have the right to defend themselves as well. Hunt the property that you have permossion to hunt. Dont try to run your dogs through someones property because you know the deer bed down in there. I am a memeber of a hunt club and these are the rules we follow and we get along great with the owners and other clubs around us to the point that we join up with other clubs on occasion to help each other out

What are they hunting? Birds? Deer? Whoever is paying the taxes on the property is the authority on who hunts it I’d say

If you wound a animal the hunter is required to retrieve it or they face charges of wasting the animal. If you own the land and post it the hunter still has the right to retrieve. I meet a dog breeder/trainer in Alabama who enclosed 100 acres and stocked with all types of predator and prey. The cost of dog or deer proof fencing is high and no bank will finance it

I hope i see the end of dog hunting in VA during my lifetime. I grew up hunting with dogs and as I've gotten older Ive seen the terrible things that come with it. We would have more deer, bigger deer with a better age structure and antlers, far less trespassing, less firearm accidents while hunting, etc etc. There are no negatives to banning hound hunting other than hurting the feelings of lazy hunters and ruining "tradition". And allowing hound hunting on public land WMAs is complete bullshit. GET RID OF IT

Hound hunting is lazy hunting. If you don’t have permission then don’t go there.
