Only 46/60 for me this week. As usual when I have a lower score, failed to build up enough momentum in the first couple of rounds and then round 3 sealed it... 7/10 on pictures, 9/10 on entertainment, 11/20 on toys/gadgets (always likely to be quite a tough round on me), 10/10 on connections, 9/10 on GK. However despite only getting my regular 6 out of 10 on the picture round, the rest of the quiz went a lot better, and finished with 51/60, getting both connections on the first question ( mainly by going for the obvious connection, on the basis that i may have to alter the answer dependant upon the additional qustions). What a horrible quiz, I hated it (/jk). I did not like round 3 which had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that 9 of the featured items were released before I was born with the Wii being released the year after, thus giving everyone else the massive advantage of being able to remember said items being released and quite possibly owning them themselves. I did very poorly all round only scoring 30 after dropping absolute clangers like absent mindedly putting umbro instead of under armour while also getting some very lucky nothing guesses such as hms bounty after working out the connection so picking a chocolate bar that sounded like it could be a ship and picking himalayas because why not and also most of the other ones i could think of in the moment were simply named after the region of the world in which they are located eg Balkans, Urals. 4/10 on the picture round signified this was going to be a bad week, especially given the aforementioned howler although somewhat redeemed by guessing creme egg as i couldnt think of anything else that could have that white and orange swirl. My week was perfectly typified by having a perfectly reasonable and solid round 2, something that would usually give me a competitive score if i could do it regularly, in a week where the entire rest of the quiz burned all around me, scoring 6/10 including all the last 5 plus a flashback to the days when i would get home from school and instantly go over to the computer and open youtube to play an ac/dc playlist while doing quizzes. 9/20 on a very unfair third round that was cruelly weighted against me (yes i will keep mentioning this and yes i am bitter [/jk]) completely killed my week which up to that point still had a glimmer of hope after round 2 picked up round 1's slack and the misery was further compounded by an absolutely shambolic 4/10 on round 4 although i do very much like the concept of the connection round. general knowledge was the one constant in a sea of change this week as i scored a solid 7/10 coupled with confusion after i learned that the indian ocean is not the smallest as i previously thought. Oops. Hope you have a great couple of weeks off, youve absolutely earned the holiday and i look forward to resting next week knowing theres no leaderboard to show up my truly abysmal performance tonight which i will attribute to my decision to play at 1:30 in the morning and running on 40 hours give or take with no sleep and no caffeine consumed in that period.
