Hi Nicola, All your videos are very good. Here in Brazil there are no videos on how to do virtual staging. Yours are the best I've ever seen. Do you think I can get the same quality using Sketchup instead of 3DS Max, since 3d comes down to not very complex planes, and the renderer will be the same?
@GeorgeNicola

Hi Roberto, thanks for your kind words. Straight onto my answer - yes, with SketchUp you can achieve similar results like in 3Ds max. I have a mini-series videos where I'll do few staging projects with SketchUp, I hope they will be at help to you and everyone else working with Skp. Cheers

Great job! Hi, I have an image of 4491 and 3601 @300ppi but everytime I press render, the photo is not aligned in the perspective match. Why is that?
@GeorgeNicola
@GeorgeNicola 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hackintosh. What do you mean by 4491 and 3601 (that's the pixel resolution?). 300ppi is too much and brings no benefit to the virtual staging unless you are going to print the staged images. Which version of SketchUp and V-ray are you using?

hi George, I am struggling into your video and trying to do it right, but it still doesn't. In my latest result, all the textures from the background photo are applied in a wobbly way i.e: the planks in the wooden floor aren't straight lines , but kind of a zigzag pattern. Help please.

@GeorgeNicola
@GeorgeNicola 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Just by following the steps strictly, I do you should be able to model a very close to real-life geometry of the space; for higher precision, you can scale part of the model from the beginning, and it'll be accurate. You can join our FB group: facebook.com/groups/virtualstagingwithgeorge and share your photo or information that you are trying to solve, and I and try to help. G.

Hello Nicola, how are you? Is there a way to add new lights to the scene that are not part of the background photo, and that they are projected on the walls (type IES) using the same technique as the shadows? Or will I have to put up new walls, disregarding the background image? Thank you very much if you can help me!
@GeorgeNicola
@GeorgeNicola 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! There is not a convenient way to do achieve that with V-ray; that is why I prefer Corona (3ds max), as it can bake 3D lighting into the background image quite well. With Sketchup and V-ray the approach is to make that part which you want to illuminate and assign a wrapper with override and GI material that contrcols the diffuse of the light. Render everything then in post you can compile and achieve it. I know it's time consuming ...

@@GeorgeNicola Actually I do have one question :). My issue is, when I photo match the working space and set the same picture as background in Vray, the model doesn't fit in the picture during rendering. The picture is always a bit wider and also corners don't fit as they do during photo match. I set my rendering aspect to the image width/height.

I mean, it is something I can adjust with a little bit of zooming and moving, while looking at interactive rendering, but I can't ever zoom to the exact aspect, so it never fits perfectly and you don't seem to have this kind of issue.
