We started our Kerala tour from kochi and did 18 day tour of places to visit and had lot of traditional food.
This was a very long day, we started from our hotel at 7 am and reached back at 9.30 pm..
I could never imagine that with in one day we would be able to explore so much of Kochi.
For your reference, if you plan to go to Allepey or Thekkady or Munnar then your journey starting point is Kochi only…
Following are the details of food joints and places visited by us in a day at Kochi, Kerala. Every information mentioned below is self explanatory. Hope you will enjoy watching this episode.
Sree Muruga Cafe: We started our journey with famous breakfast of Kerala.
Kadala Curry with Puttu Rs. 46

Sarovaram: This is a famous restaurant of Kochi, they serve sadhya in afternoon meal. Timings 12 noon to 3.30 pm.

Lulu Mall: Biggest mall of south india. This mall is so big that its so hard to see the full mall in one day.

Kayees Hotel: Very famous biryani shop, they have a shop at Mattancherry as well. We went there but by that time Biryani got over in afternoon. So we visited their Kochi joint, address details below.

After a very long and super enjoyable journey at Kochi, we planned to continue day 2 of our journey from Kochi to Munnar. Soon You will see a separate episode of the same.

Kochi - we ended our 18 day tour at Kochi.
All this travel we did with www.kochitaxi24...
We had great time with them, driver was flexible, he had good knowledge on route and food joints too.
Total cost we paid for daily running of 100 km was Rs 2000., timings 7 am to 8 pm…
Rs 150 extra per hour after the drive timings, they gave us 10 km for every hour extra they charged us.
Extra km charge Rs 13.
We ended up paying about 45k for the journey.

I m from jharkhand but since last 5year I m staying here... really very good environment in Kerala and sir u missed Broadway market which is very huge market in Kochi nd price r very reasonable for dry fruits and spices.

Right now staying at a 5 star hotel in kochi nothing can be compared to a road side guy swapping dosa with rigid coconut chutney rather than 5 guys bringing those orders to my room.

I was there in 2015...May... Monsoon is the best for greenery. Fort Kochi..Church... Spices market... Ferry ride... I purchased goggles from there... folding a banana leaf towards you means you loved the food and also that you would love to eat here again. folding the leaf away from you is mostly done during funeral meals which is usually on the 13th day as per Hindu rituals. This indicates that let this be the last funeral in the family and that they would never have to eat again in a funeral.

Kochi, the sleepy seaside town of Kerala is draped with goodies. The green coastline by the Kochi Fort is a wonderful travel destination.The experience of Chinese fishing in the fisherman's wharf is no doubt one of it's kind. In Bengal we eat on the under part of the banana leaf as that is much cleaner, protected from dust.

You mean you scorch even the leaves you eat on? We do scortch it when wanting to steam something in them to make it pliable. We also do wash the banana leaves we eat on, but no matter what, it is still healthier to eat from the underside protected from all elements that dust carries. Unless you wash all leaves with soap, water and disinfectant.

My friend is from Kerala... People of Kerala are so amiable hospitable and the dishes ....so yummy and tasty... I have been there twice... So nice and a perfect place to watch and tourism.
