Below are the places which we have covered on our 5th day of the Spiti Tour, Hope you will enjoy this episode. Date of Journey - 25th June 2021
Suicide Point / Roghi Point - Suicide point name given by some foreigner, as this point, deep mountain somewhere around 1000 ft. This place is popular roghi point as it is nearby to Roghi village.
We visited Roghi village - We had Namkeen Tea also saw the making process, something similar to mana village, they use butter & milk along with Sattu. Roghi village also has homestays.
While roaming, I saw 2 other options for stay in Kalpa
Hotel Apple Pie Kalpa - Rs 1500 to 2200 double occupancy
Hotel Rolligrang - Rs 3300 plus taxes breakfast & dinner
We met Shri Shyam Sundar ji at their residence, who was the first voter of India after Independence, Just for your information he is 105 years old, It was different a kind of experience, I have never met a person like Shri Shyam Sundar ji before.
Gharate (old traditional Atta Chakki) at the local house - This atta chakki does not require any electricity, It just works on its own, with the pressure of flowing stream.

Maa Bhagwati Mandir - It is an ancient Temple in Kothi village - Durga Mata temple - 400 years old, we could not go inside the temple, as it was closed due to Covid. Resident of village told us that most of the Deity in Mountains are on Palanquin, Hence can be moved. bit.ly/3jy0nAT
Reckong Peo - It is 10 km from Kalpa, we visited Shawl making unit, There are 20 to 25 shops. They don’t sell single pieces.
We had purchased 1 Cap - Rs 400

After we strolling in Reckong market, explore the varieties of Rajma.
Then we had Dinner - at Little chef - Rajma with Jeera Rice - Rs 300.
You get to see the Kinner Kailash mountain view from Kalpa & Reckong peo.
People generally do the trekking towards where they get closer to Kinner Kailash mountain, Rock is shape in a form of Shivling. It is located at high altitude.

My husband & I spent 2 days/3 nights in Kalpa in our tour of Sangla, Lahul & Spiti valleys in July '19. We, too, visited the local markets and temples. However as compared to your exploration of the areas & interaction with the locals, our's was very superficial. You do have the talent to make any trip informative and interesting. Great! The culture in that area is so beautiful. Love that hat with flowers. Those shawls are gorgeous. Hand made. Hard work but worth it. People are so talented. As usual the views are out of this world. It is rather scary thinking that rocks may come tumbling down anytime. Yikes!! Rajma and cumin rice looks so delicious. I went to Spiti a few years back but we missed Kalpa at that time and couldn't explore it. But with this video it seems like we haven't missed it at all.. ye hindu kath kuni architecture hai bhaiji or ye baad mai tibet, bhutan mai influence laya tha waha se china or china se ye japan or korea gaya isko pagoda style architect bhi kehte hai. himachal or uttarakhand k traditional temple gate japanese gates se ek dum match krte hai. Buddhist stupa mai bhi aapko same 2 same gates milenge.

Dear Harish ji, I watched the episode early this morning. The sheer rock cliffs and deep valleys are both beautiful and scary. The simple and hard-working hill folk, such as the ones who welcomed you to their homes for "namkeen tea and sattu" or the "hard-working and knowledgeable woman weaver.." sure win hearts! The short interview with the first voter of our country was wonderful! It is a difficult terrain to be in, for the natives and the tourists. कल और आज मैंने सराहन से रिकांगपिओ तक के वीडियो देखे। तीन साल पहले मैं किन्नौर और स्पीति हो कर मनाली गया था। मैंने जितना देखा था उससे बहुत ज्यादा आपके वीडियो ने दिखाया है। मैंने आपका चैनल भी कल ही देखना शुरू किया है। आपका प्रस्तुतिकरण गजब का है। छोटी से छोटी जानकारी जो पर्यटक के लिये आवश्यक है, आप दे रहे हैं । स्थानीय जानकारी देने वाले के प्रति आपकी विनम्रता और धन्यवाद ज्ञापन तो मन मोह लेता है। अब तो लगता है आपके चैनल के माध्यम से ही भारत भ्रमण होता रहेगा। बहुत-बहुत बधाई और धन्यवाद ।

I went there first time in 1989-90. Was very treacherous, no bridges in sangla to Chitkul. Had to wade thru water. Baspa hydel project has to some extent spoilt the beauty

Yes, u can travel throughout the year to kalpa except few days in jan or feb when it snows heavily, Road is cleared in 1-2 days aftr snowfall.
