Fun fact: this concert was from 2020 - while the rest of the world was dealing with COVID, we in little old NZ had all but eliminated it which is why we were able to go to concerts. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Thank you for choosing to jump into our culture and music. Your love and warmth are a beacon of hope. You're welcome to come here anytime and I'm absolutely sure your NZ followers will show you around.

Thank you Sir for your reaction. I wish the folk we live amongst would share your opinion of us (Maori people). I've spent most of my life around people that made me feel ashamed and embarrassed to be Maori but to hear someone from the other side of the world understand what a beautiful people we are, it's bitter sweet because why is it a constant battle to be accepted 😢. BTW, I was there at the concert at the front and the atmosphere was the best (maybe because we were the only country in the world able to have a concert while the rest of the world were in lockdown). The amazing thing about this concert is that it was held when the rest of the world was in Covid lockdown and NZ was free of Covid at that time - it felt like a healing message and vibration going out to the whole world.

The Māori language and culture is extremely special. Sadly we are at the cusp the of a battle right now with our new coalition government which has a key objective to take Māori Pakeha relations back decades. The rest of the world must send their heartfelt protestations to the NZ government today, to prevent a civil crisis happening in our country. The main culprits of this disaster in the making is the Act Party ( leader: David Seymour who is part Māori himself) and the New Zealand First Party ( leader: Winston Peters, who ironically, is also part Māori).

I’m a teacher. I was born and have lived my whole life in Aotearoa NZ. I absolutely believe te tiriti should be recognised in NZ law, and implemented fully, as it should have been in 1840. Your people were duped back then, by the duplicitous colonists. There should be no renegotiation of the original document. It must remain as stipulated in the Māori version of te tiriti.

Thank you for this! I get emotional too when I see my home and culture showcased on an international level, especially here in KZfaq land. I live in Finland, so it's difficult to get back home. Seeing reaction videos and my culture being enjoyed by others is a connection that makes me feel blessed to be Maori.
