She was/is my music teacher and mentor. I grew up 5 doors down from her house in Baltimore and stayed in touch with her and her husband until the end. 100% Pure Love !! I miss my second mom and dad.

got the privilege to hear this woman perform on stage, and go to her home and watch her rehearsals, I was 14 yrs old at the time.

I never heard of her until I heard her sing the theme to Mad Monster Party. WHAT A SINGER!!! Personally, I e been in move with a Black woman for years. People need to just drop self imposed restrictions and if you love someone of another skin tone who cares? We rob ourselves of love, fulfillment, and happiness for the opinions of over bearing people.

been a big fan of hers for years first heard of her years ago in my home in DC I bought an album by her for 1.dollar at a flea market, played it very scratchy but I heard her voice and I said man what a voice. DC's first lady of Jazz was Shirley Horn, would have love to see both on the same bill.RIP ms Ennis

What a fascinating interview. This is the first time I've ever seen or heard ms. Ennis speak. She is as down to earth as one can get. I'm getting more familiar with her songbook. She is a fantastic singer, also a very good piano player.

Savannah P - I was going to suggest you take your rubbish away from this Ethel Ennis interview but it seems you can't because you've been zapped. Good riddance. hopefully you went to play in the traffic and lost.

Leviticus 19:31 (King James Version) 31Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 20:6 (King James Version) 6And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Ask GOD to send your man/woman of GOD, NEVER go to a card person, psychic or spiritist. BAD
