Visions of Antarctica | Ronin 4D Cinematic Film

In February of 2022 I worked on board the beautiful three mast tall ship Bark Europa, sailing from Ushuaia to the Antarctic peninsula. Along the way I filmed the incredible polar landscape and wildlife on the DJI Ronin 4D.

I came across the Europa on my own trip to Antarctica, 10 years ago. Seeing it emerge from behind an iceberg felt as if we were sent back in time all of a sudden.

I love how basic the filming is, it’s so good, there’s no crazy transitions or anything, it’s just raw film with incredible sound design. I’m literally about to head out and wanted to film something but didn’t know how…know I do

I am so glad this isn't interrupted by some camera reviewer being like, "Those were clips from my short film that you won't ever see in full because I am going to now talk about me and my thoughts on this camera. Is it the best camera ever made? My response at the end of this video may surprise you. But first, we are going to take about dynamic range." Gosh, I hate that bullshit. Just show us what you made with the tool given. We can read the specs online.

The majesty of sail matches the majesty of Antarctica. Having sailed the Southern Ocean just once I know how different and majestic it can be when it is not so calm and lovely. Thank you for this wonderful view for armchair sailors.🎥

The image quality is astounding. I especially loved the moving shot of the penguins waddling on the snow. The DJI Ronin 4D seems to be a mighty tool, just a tad heavy to carry around, I presume 😅
