When I use to read a lot about Haitian history I read that Okap is where 25 % of all slaves coming from West Africa passed. Biggest slave trading port in the world for African slaves. This means slaves who ended up everywhere including here in America...anyway this is the first youtube channel that I have ever actually ticked the notification channel...amazing amazing stuff

Tout vidéo yo bel, men ocap bezwen Sannite ak kamion fatra Lot Bo pont pa bel di tou. Et si magistra fe appel pou yon « Go fund me » pou commencé.

It's because the other vloggers don't portray the city in the true spirit that it should. I watch alot of other well known KZfaq creators who have covered Cap-Haitian and they spend less than 5% of the video interviewing or talking to the locals. They portray them(not intentionally) as mean spirited and unfriendly towards foreigners. This is the first video that i've watched in 5 years that had this much energy and excitement for Okap.

Please continue this series as there are some videos about Cap-Haitien on KZfaq but they dont show the energy and liveliness of the people like your videos do. I have watch a ton of KZfaq vloggers over the years and sadly Haiti, gets the least attraction on their video. The people on the walkthroughs and interviews always seem so sad or uninterested in conversing with foreigners. Your series is the first and ONLY one that really shined a light on the happiness behind the city we know as Okap!

We have so many fond memories of Haiti but what is going on in Haiti now is nauseous. However, not everyone thinks Haiti is Hell and that sentiment would not just be limited to Graham Greene were he alive. Of course, Graham was one of the great writers of the 20th Century. One other ex-spook used to love Haiti until the TonTon Macoute hunted him down like a wild animal. If you relish and yearn for Haitian spy thrillers as curiously and bizarrely compelling as Graham Greene’s Comedians, yearn for the cruel stability of the Duvaliers and have frequented Hôtel Oloffson you're never going to put down Bill Fairclough's fact based spy thriller Beyond Enkription in The Burlington Files series. It's a raw noir thriller but it is so real you may have nightmares of being back in Port au Prince anguishing over being a spy on the run. The trouble is, if you were a spook being chased by the TonTon Macoute in the seventies you were usually cornered and ... well best leave it to your imagination or simply read Beyond Enkription. It’s considered compulsory reading for espionage aficionados. See theburlingtonfiles.org and if you have any questions remember the best quote from The Burlington Files to date is "Don't ask me, I'm British" but do read The Comedians first if you have not done so recently.
