In August 1971 the U.S. Dept. Of defense paid $2.000.000.00 to Hamilton watch comp. for precision watchmaking equipment. This equipment was used in fabricating bomb and artillery shell fuses, aircraft timing gear, pinions and similar military components. Most Soviet watch manufacturing equipment has been supplied from the United States and Switzerland. In some cases the Soviets used copies of these foreign machines. Book reference: National Suicide by Antony C. Sutton.

Why did you skip America's contribution to Russian watch making? Watchmaking was practically non-existent in Russia during the 18th and 19th centuries. Their watch industry began when the Communists took power. ALL the tools, machines, plans, processes, and procedures came from America in 1930, along with 21 American watch makers to teach them. This is what started the dynamic Soviet watch industry.
