Three days in the east end, and I loved the place. Biggest shock of my life! It was the people who made all the difference. I was made so welcome, and they treated me like one of their own. Shoreditch, Hackney, "Beffnal" Green, I actually miss the place. A lot of it's gentrified now and really changed. And, believe it or not, I never once had any trouble using Scottish Pound notes!

@@hey12542they’re not in a different country, it’s the same country (although many Scots would rather it wasn’t). I live in the north of England and house prices here are similar to those in Glasgow. Because we’re the same country. It’s London that feels like a million miles away from the rest of Britain.

​​​​@@louisdoningtonIt's literally a different country hence all three countries on the island having their own names Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. Together they make up the island of Great Britain and are currently part of a 'United Kingdom' (Union) with Northern Ireland although it's not so united and sooner NI and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 leave and the hard border is put in place the better and I'm a remainer 😂. I read many comments where people say things like you have about London seeming a million miles away but that isn't London's fault it's just the view of people in Northern England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and the other two countries cause they feel they are not listened too. If we talk from a political point of view maybe the North of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 shouldn't have been so gullible and voted in the conservatives like they did in 2019, it's okay complaining about the state of things now but they voted for it and for Brexit. It is London that still has a Labour London Mayor and Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 has a SNP first minister (for now). While not a conservative and knowing there are many that live in the south the North should have always thought of it's own interests and how having a conservative government would play out for them. Mostly from what I pick up Southerns are targeted with Anti southern xenephobia by northern England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 when it was the North that voted for this 🤷. This is an argument I've had with my Geordie father previously. London voted remain, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle did not. But they all need someone to blame as they couldn't possibly accept what they voted for.
