During the 30 years war this town was surrounded by a Swedish Army. Mayor Nusch pleaded for his town not to be pillaged and destroyed. The Swedish General said that if you can drink this wine in one gulp then I will not destroy the town. Mayor Nusch drank it in one gulp, this saving Rothenburg. This is reenacted every day at a certain time and is the sogennante " Meistertrunk". Ich war im 1985 bei Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Schoene Stadt !

Respekt! 👏Diese Serie hat mir besonders gefallen, nicht nur weil Easy German neue Sehenswürdigkeiten zeigt, sondern auch verschiedene Kulturen in Deutschland vermittelt.👍 Ich bedanke mich bei euch allen ganz herzlich. 🙏Jedes Mal lerne ich was Neues und lasst mich was behaupten, dass Easy German Videos besser als irgendein Sprachschule ist.👊 Ich fühle mich am Anfang des Videos wie ein Bumerang, das nach ungefähr zehn Minuten mit neuen Vokabeln und Kenntnissen beladen zurückkehrt. (Was für ein Metapher!) 😎 Macht weiter, bitte! Einfach atemberaubend! 🤯

I was in Rothenburg ob der Tauber 3 weeks ago. Such a beautiful Altstadt and walking the city wall was amazing. Worth the 24hour trip from Australia.

Went to Rothenburg ob der Tauber about 10 years ago. It's about as close as you can get to going back in time. A magical place!

Ich war 2004 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, und ich muss sagen, es ist wirklich wunderbar diese Stadt hier auf KZfaq wieder zu erleben. Danke schön für eure harte Arbeit. Grüße aus Südafrika!

Ich bin zweimal in Rothenburg ob der Tauber gewesen -- both so many years ago. I just HAD to click on this video. The first time was while I was a student visiting Germany as part of a summer program. A host family from Würtzburg took us there. Just a few years later I visited Würtzburg with my new wife and they took her there as well. I remember more than anything going up into a tower - perhaps Rathousturm near the main square - you could see the whole world from there.

Toller Rundgang, informativ und lebendig Emotional untermalt durch die Kommentare der Besucher. Gut gemacht. Bei 6:43 sieht man, dass die Stadtmauer nicht nur fast ganz erhalten ist sonder die ganze Altstadt mit ca. 40 Türmen und fünf mächtigen Toranlagen umschließt

Vielen Dank für euer tolles Video. Es hat mich gute Erinnerungen zurückgebract. Mit 21 Jahren besuchte ich eine Filiale des Goethe Instituts in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Leider wusste ich nicht genau, wo ich wohnte. Jetzt bin ich 62 und Ich hoffe, eines Tages wieder zu Besuch zu kommen.

Ich hab nun schon einige eurer Videos über die deutsche Sprache angeschaut und finde es wundervoll wie man mit diesem "Anschauungsmaterial" seine eigene Sprache reflektieren kann. Gut ist es aber auch, dass ihr über die Dinge "zwischen" unserer Sprache (wenn ich das so sagen darf) berichtet. EInfach Klasse! Als ich mir nun auch einige eurer Bericht über Städte (Salzburg, Berlin Graz, Rothenburg odT, etc.) und andere Länder angeschaut hab, bin ich zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass ich mir irgendwelche Reiseberichte unserer Fernsehanstalten schenken kann. Ihr mkacht das weitaus besser. Macht weiter so. Ich hoffe, viele Deutschlerner wenden sich witerhin an euch und schauen sich diese immer sehr interessanten Videos an und lernen unser schönes Land "richtig" kennen. Viele Grüße aus Mainz am Rhein

We just recently left Germany after living near Ansbach for three years, and we loved going over to Rothenburg as often as we could. I love your video and I recognize every place in it and miss Rothenburg a lot. The restaurant you ate at was actually one of the best restaurants in town! We loved their kase spatzle!

Same here, Ryan, with difference that I was living in Rothenburg and was visiting Ansbach at times. Rothenburg can be somewhat isolated but the quality of life overall was (is) superb! I'd love to go back and visit it again.

Ladies - fantastic video. Slowing your speech down and enunciating clearly made it so much easier for me to understand. Listening to you speaking whilst reading the GERMAN subtitles, I didn't need to cheat and look at the English subtitles. And yes Rothenburg looks very pretty. I must visit sometime. Thanks

its not only the south... Lüneburg, Lübeck, Schwerin, Wernigerode & many more in the northern region are beautiful medievil towns too. Hamburg & Bremen are worth a visit too.
