Went to Monument Valley a few years ago and for me it was definitely worth going as it was on my way for part of a circle drive from Vegas > Delta (U-Digg fossils) > Zion > North Rim Grand Canyon > Brycce > Capitol Reef > Goblin Valley > Dead Horse Point > Arches > Canyonlands > Monument Valley > South Rim > Vegas. If you ever can get out there and do some / all / more within that circle tour go for it! Memories will last me a lifetime! For Monument valley I hired a local tour operator who unfortunately is no longer in business after COVID. But it supports the local tribe so fully encourage it. Plus they give lots of helpful info and will take you places beyond the scenic drive.
