Charlie Rich was a great entertainer and recorded at Sun Records and lived in Memphis but was not a member of the Memphis Mafia.

Red West had the back of Elvis from the time they were in Humes high school because of Elvis and his long hair and appearance he would have been a easy mark if not for Red ,he loved Elvis and he helped write the book because he saw his best friend dying before his eyes.Elvis had his eyes open by the book and he told Red as much when he spoke with him on the phone after the book was released,it was Vernon who had a problem with the book and personally fired Red and Sonny but he lied to Elvis and said he intended to hire them back shortly.Vernon and his wife who Elvis resented and her sons were using Elvis for all they could get,One son even went as far as to take the photos of Elvis in his coffin and sold them to the tabloid and Vernon sold Elvis’s future earnings in part to the Money sucking manager.so from top to bottom they were all using Elvis,Red was only trying to get Elvis to see what was happening and get his life and health back on track

Red West went to high school with Elvis and how they met was playing football and when others were picking on Elvis, Red took up for him. Red went with Elvis to the Texas and to Germany to live with them in the house Elvis rented while there. They were together until Elvis and his dad fired him due to law suits from altercations with fans while protecting Elvis. Red and his brother were hurt and what a book and 10 days after the book came out Elvis died.

Watched a.video of Dr. Nick before he died , this video looked to be in the 90’s and he was explaining what was found in Elvis’s autopsy which was a type of mega colon. Apparently Elvis had been dealing with this all his life. The mega colon along with pain meds would have caused horrible constipation and pain not to mention the other health problems he was dealing with. Elvis being in horrible pain also got meds from other sources, one being a physician who lived about a stone throw from the International. Apparently this Doctor was known to prescribe medications to the stars. Those around Eli’s tried to limit his abuse by emptying the capsules or replacing them, but Elvis knew when the meds were not working properly and there were too many people around him providing meds to him to win favor.

Charlie Rich was not of the "Memphis Mafia." He did record at Sun Records too. I loved his singing, and have several of his albums. Red West and Elvis attended Humes High School. Some boys cornered Elvis in the boys restroom, to cut his hair, and "Red" came to his rescue. There was another doctor who was supplying Elvis much prescription drugs, but not anything was done about him. It should have been him too. He is deceased too.
