I'm happy to be one of the engineers (from Daewoo E&C) involved in the construction of this beautiful bridge. Thank you for providing us of the latest update of the bridge by posting this nice video.

Tell me, would it be possible to add one more lane to either direction of the bridge, and to expand the rail line and add another track? What would that entail, and how much would it cost?

The Bridge is not wide enough. should have 2 lanes bridge.

I agree with you that the bridge should've been widened... perhaps the same design can be used for a larger version in the future tho.

We built the bridge we could afford. The original cost was $250 million, but then Zimbabwe tried to sabotage it because it wanted to keep all the traffic from Zambia and DRC to itself, since it pays more than 70% of Zimbabwe's road taxes. The Zimbabweans tried to claim that Zambia has no border with Botswana, and went so far as to ask the UN to rule accordingly. Zambia and Botswana went to Daewoo, and have them curve the bridge away from Zimbabwe to above the Caprivi Strip, which is a part of Namibia. This added an additional $10 million to the cost of the bridge. When bridge finally opened, the shameless president of Zimbabwe claimed that Zimbabwe was going to be a part of the (revenue sharing) of the bridge
