Can I make a suggestion for a destination? Take the tour of Crystal Cave at Sequoia National Park in California. It’s a beautiful fifteen minute hike down to the cave, which turns into a challenging (steep!) hike back out afterwards. However, inside the cave is amazing with the sounds of the water running through the marble lined creeks, and dripping of water off the ceiling creating stalactites. At one point during the tour they turn off the lights for a moment to illustrate just how dark it gets, but that makes you focus on all of the sounds. It’s really amazing and would seem to be ideal to hear through your 3D sound equipment!

Thank you Destin! Now I'm feeling adventurous! I can't help but think about those 360 degree videos when I watch these. It really does feel like you're there. Come to think of it, would it be possible to do both 360 video and 360 sound? I don't think the 360 sound would be possible but it would really cool! Anyways, keep posting these, they're great!

hey destin have you though about doing this with 360 video aswell?

I've been thinking of how to improve these binaural experiences to make them better match human hearing. Just a couple observations. 1) Equalization: Some sounds that the microphone seems to be more efficient at registering than others, mostly high frequency like clothes rustling together might need to be equalized so to better match what you would actually hear. 2) Wind noise is a bit strong, maybe putting a wind filter on the ends of the microphones could help.
