This video is of the beginning part of my journey through Kenya. I started from Ethiopia and crossed the land border into Kenya by car. So many delays, long drives, and corruption but that didn't stop me from meeting and learning about some of the remote tribes in Northern Kenya in the town of Loiyangalani.
I met beautiful people from the magical Rendille and Turkana tribes, and was able to learn a little about their culture, see some their dancing and listen to their singing. Their jewelry is incredible!!!
From this video, you will get an idea of what to expect when traveling through Northern Kenya, and the beauty of the resilient tribes who live there. Learn from my mistakes so that you can plan your travels and land border crossings better than me!

I find that going with the flow helps to keep me sane. that’s one of the perks of traveling solo- I don’t have to worry about someone else being upset or having a timeline. AMAZING! I had no idea all the obstacles you faced on this trip! What an attribute PERSEVERANCE is in your total makeup …….. not to mention bravery, kindness to everyone, stamina, and beauty from within. It was such a colorful video with so much love and laughter. They seemed to accept you wholeheartedly….. a true gift you have. I loved all their jewelry and it’s meaning, but it was also comical to find out what they thought your jewelry (bracelets) meant….killings by you!!!! Great video……looking forward to the next one!❤

I guess hard roads and obstacles come along with my type of travel! On the bright side, they add to the story and increase my strength 😆 thank you for such a beautiful and in depth comment. Its really eye opening to have people from other nations accept me with open arms (usually)-- I think this is actually a good lesson for people in the States, since many of us definitely don't accept strangers with open arms. If anything, we shut them out, and sometimes for no reason other than some physical differences. We have so much to learn from others. hahaha yessss, my bracelets!! that was hilarious!!! Hej Zann, what a great video about your adventures in Northern Kenya. Ileret is not a good idea, better to go to Kenya via Moyale. I also wanted to travel to Lake Turkana last year, from Ethiopia.
