VISITING YAZD IN IRAN: And trying Shiraz and Yazdi Faloodeh in Iran for the first time!

Жыл бұрынWe travelled to Iran at the beginning of September 2022 before protests and civil unrest began in Tehran on 16 September 2022 following to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Our thoughts are with the people of Iran during this time and we feel incredibly thankful to have visited and experienced the amazing hospitality and culture of Iran as New Zealanders.
We had a VERY special outing in the Iranian city of Yazd that was something a little bit different... In Yazd we met an inspiring young KZfaqr named Hasti who invited us to go on an adventure in their beautiful hometown of Yazd...
In this episode we try - and compare - the traditional Iranian dessert of Faloodeh with typical styles from the cities of Yazd and Shriaz.
You'll have to watch to see which one won the competition!

I just wanted to leave a few words here for you to understand what seems like a cute dress for you to wear and enjoy for a few days has been the sign of violence and oppression against us for years! We are putting our lives in danger now every day fighting for women’s rights to end the gender apartheid in Iran where the law discriminates against us in almost every matter including the right to choose how we dress! Iran is a beautiful cultural and I do love my country but for the love of humanity and all the brave women putting their lives at risk, please don’t try to normalize that for the world! This is not a cute dress if it’s not worn by choice! This is something #MahsaAmini lost her life to 😢
