I watched your B. Arnold video earlier today and selected this one to watch next. I enjoyed this as well. My travels have never taken me close enough to visit, but I hope to get to Yorktown someday. Also, I hope people appreciate the French contribution to our revolution (the Dutch and Spanish as well). It doesn't get mentioned often enough. All too often "we" think "we" won this all by ourselves. There were a lot of countries that didn't like the British, and we had a lot of help.

Loved this video! Have never been to Yorktown but it looks 👌 I Have been to Battle of New Orleans in Chalmette, Louisiana. I highly recommend. It was another major US victory against the British late in the Revolution

I think like many, I didn't learn or retain any of this in high school because US History was presented in such a boring fashion. I learned about this much later after watching Hamilton a few dozen times and diving deeper into learning about all the events. Great video and definitely planning on visiting Yorktown when I'm in the area.

Visiting Surrender Field is amazing to think what went on there in 1781 at that very location. Wife and I live 30 minutes away and visit Yorktown often.

After binge watching the AMC series "Turn" because I saw it mentioned in the comments of one of your videos, I happened upon this video that sort of puts a bow on it all. Pretty great. I love your work! Keep it up!

We were heading home from Hampton, VA and like usual there was a ton of traffic. We were a couple of miles east of Yorktown, and I remembered that they had Lafayette's ship, so we stopped and walked around. It was pretty cool to see it and go on it, especially while killing time for the traffic to dwindle... It didn't so we just took a back way home.

I visited the Yorktown battlefield just under 3 weeks ago... gosh, how I wish I could've toured it with you! And not just because I got a little lost on the driving route (missed the road to Surrender Field lol). "Turn: Washington's Spies" got me interested in the Seige of Yorktown, the Revolutionary War, John Andre (whom you made a video about and that's how I discovered your channel), etc. Will you be doing a video on the Culper Ring? :) In any case, great channel, Bridget! Wish I found out about it sooner!

Was the Revolutionary War the only focus of the tour ? George Washington is my 1st cousin via our shared Gfather Nicholas Martiau. Nicholas's descendents include many other historical figures of founding families who were critical to the building of our nation. Through my Gmothers marriage to John Scarsbrook/Scasbrook, also makes us cousins with Queen Elizabeth. Nicholas Martiau came to what is now called Yorktown in 1625 as an engineer to strengthen this, Point Comfort & other protective forts along the Chesapeake & James River. He was the founder of Yorktown, held land patents including the battlefields. He is buried at the church right there in the village w/memorials & other members of his family. I am surprised he wasn't included or more prominently mentioned as without his immigration, we would have at the very least, no George Washington & possibly no Independence of America. Our schools barely scratch the surface of chronological events, researching my ancestry opened up an incredible world of what every day life & the journey our country has made in ways I never imagined. *You never know who your related to today. I thank you SO VERYmuch for sharing your experiences & what you learn of our country's history with others.

Visited the museum just after it opened. A lot of money for so little outcome. Great, expensive, detailed displays. Nobody to interact with or answer questions until we went outdoors. Hope they fixed the "automatic" theater which didn't work. Form over function.

Привет Бриджит! Покажи нам пожалуйста место битвы под Геттисбергом. Говорят, там водятся призраки и до сих пор можно услышать звуки давно прошедшего боя. Ты же любишь призраков, правда?
