In his talk, Sudhan Chitgopkar demonstrates what math can teach us about nature's most beautiful patterns.
Sudhan Chitgopkar is a third-year undergraduate studying Computer Science and International Affairs at the University of Georgia. Sudhan is fascinated by mathematical visualizations and creates generative art, a type of artwork created using algorithms and autonomous systems. He combines code, mathematics, and nature to explore patterns that we encounter in our everyday lives. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I think math is. It just is. And we discovered our math by looking inside of us. We are math, we created it and we discovered it at the same time.

They ask me what major. I say, i have a whole. Of which, in a sense, there is no opposite, like space i imagine. Because you dont get an inside without an outside and vice versa. And you have an inside.

So where is the answer to the title question? We invented Mathematics in order to describe observations. "Discovered " ,assumes pre-"programming " of the universe by some ...god? No,it all started with counting sheep. Then geometry came to divide land.

I would recommend this young man to study Qur'an and analyze it from mathematical perspective. The order of every sura, the number of every line in sura and most importantly numbering the letters in each line of each sura. Maybe he will get the answer to his question. Because for Muslims Qur'an is a Holy book which was created by Allah. So that might give the answer on whether math was invented or discovered.
