If you used the tamper correctly (pushing peanuts away from the side and into the middle where the blades are) you would get peanut butter. User error is not an excuse. Try reading the manual.

Hi. Kindly, I've owned the Blendtec and the Vitamix. I now have the new Vitamix 780 and enjoy it VERY much. I like the Blendtec; however, the Vitamix is the superior machine - in my opinion. Kindly again, it seems like their is a slight bias with the favor toward the Blendtec machine in this video. I am a owner and user of both. The Vitamix is a better machine. Thanks for the vid. :)

very interesting how it didn't make peanut butter for you and I've actually seen in done in person when used right and make really good peanut butter. You shouldn't be spinning the tamper around, you should be pushing the nuts down with it

In a comparison, you need to measure everything in order to be fair. You can't just guess or eyeball the amounts. If the amounts are not the same, this can itself result in an unfair comparision. You also need to put the ingredients in each blender in the same order ... that can also affect the results. The twister jar for the Blendtec is to move the ingredient back to the blade. The tamper on the Vitamix needs to be used in the same way ... just circling the tamper does not move the product back to the blade.

you can't make a good assessment or comparison if you don't use the product the way the company tells you to. Try following the vitamin instructions for making peanut butter and then see what happens

I don't own a vitamix but I Am looking forward to buying one this christmas. They sell smaller containers that would get the job done. When using the large container you need to add a larger amount to get the job done.

+Elvis Tolentino I agree with smaller container it will work better, but just to compare watch this video and see Blendtec did better job with large container kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hc2HodFesqjZiIk.html ( in the end ) Thank you for comment .

+Elvis Tolentino Get a Pro 300, 7500 Pro 750 or Pro 780, and get a 32 oz. wet jar for it. Blend any amount smaller than 32 oz. in that and everything else in the 64 oz. While the 64 oz. is brilliant for larger batches, the large bottom has it's limits as far as how little product it can work with. If you have both, you rarely need to tamp anything and just get a dry blade assembly with a removal tool for the little container. The second test performed here would have gone to the Vitamix if the jar had been one of the narrow bottom jars. Remember that the Vitamix jars can work with what the max recommended amount is, so the 32 oz. is a great and very usable jar. The low profile also makes it easy to get thick things out of. As for making peanut butter in the large jar? No - unless you make like 5-6 cups of it. Use the smaller jar for that. With small amounts of peanut butter, you need a jar with a narrow bottom and narrow low top. The result will be far superior to the Blendtec Twister jar.

Since the vitamix is a much larger jar than the twister jar it needs more peanuts in order to blend properly - side note you can buy smaller vitamic jars just like you can buy the smaller twister jar
@renatagem

for vitamix you need more penut inside cuz its a wide container if not you have to get the second smaller jar. thats the reason.

I'm shopping and I don't own either, but I think I've seen enough videos like this to understand that you need more stuff in the Vitamin bowl to get a better result. The short wider design has one major flaw in that it needs more ingredients for some blends. This is why they sell a smaller bowl for those jobs.
@AB-80X

+Sevenfeet0 Just get a 32 oz. jar for the Vitamix. That will deliver a nut butter far superior to the Blendtec when making small amounts like this. Of course you can just make 4+ cups of peanut butter at a time in the large jar;) The Vitamix is the over all better machine.
@Sevenfeet0
@Sevenfeet0 8 жыл бұрын
+ABOlsen69X That sounds like a good plan. Now I just have to figure out if the extra money for the 780 is worth it. The 750 is a better deal now and is largely the same machine.

+Sevenfeet0 You have to ask yourself if the looks of the 780 is that important to you. I'd never be without the dial control of the 750, touchscreen be damned. The control you get with the dial is unbeatable, when you actually work with your blender, i.e, do other things than just push a button. Push buttons can be fine for bars, cafés and so forth, but when you use the blender for prep, the control of the dial is unbeatable. If you can get the 750 at a great price, I'd say it's a no-brainer. Use what ever you save on a couple of extra carafes and the retainer removal tool, so you have everything you need for an "easy life" with your blender.

+ABOlsen69X My family is looking to retire an old Oster that is mainly used for questionable smoothies (most mornings) and some vinaigrettes and other wet recipes. The decision tree on this goes like this. First, do I want to spend more than $400 on a new Vitamix? If not, I can get a 5200 from Costco easily. We have a neighbor with one of those and it works well for them. But the appeal of pre-sets puts me into the land of 750s and 780s. The 780 is the new hotness, so to speak. The capacitive display appeals to the iPhone age (I'm a techie). And there is direct feedback on just what the pre-sets are doing in terms of operating speed, which is useful for your own learning of his the device works. It's easy to clean and is a few decibels quieter, which is a factor since my son's bedroom is right above the kitchen and we usually are doing morning smoothies before he gets up. And its easy to clean. On the other hand, there's nothing the 780 can do versus the older, proven design of the 750. There are no exclusives on mixing bowls or other accessories. The pre-set programs are the same. The power is the same. And if budget matters (and it does), the 750 has never been cheaper (and refurbs cheaper still). I saw the machines side by side at Williams-Sonoma a couple of weeks ago and I agree about your comment regarding the manual controls. The dial interface is infinitely adjustable which is a small difference at the end of the day but I imagine that most serious home chefs would swear by that. And you can still choose a color of stainless steel. Given the price difference and the above listed discernables, I'm still leaning toward getting the 750 and pocketing the savings (which I'll need for a 32 oz wet bowl anyway).

You need more liquid if your using all frozen fruit, unless your trying to make a frozen fruit dessert. Just saying. Not a bad video. Thanks for sharing. I love the blendtec. I have the classic version. Now I am going to upgrade. Thanks

I bought a professional series 750 for £650 (pounds, about $1,000!!!!) and after four months it started spouting oil!!!!! I got no response from Vitamix through email and their telephone number isn't connected to any service! Have you any ideas of what I could do!? I tried Amazon but they don't respond to email either, in that they sent an automated email saying they can't reply to mine even though it was a reply to their original message about delivery.

If you would have used the tamper the first time, you would have been done on round 1, while the bledtec, takes you multiple times.

So what happens when you need a tamper for the blendtec? There is no guarantee you can blend everything without air pockets.
@RawProductReviews
@RawProductReviews 6 жыл бұрын
At that point you need to stop blending, open jar lid and mix it with spoon or add water.

Ummmm - If you want to be fair, then why not use the machines exactly as instructed? I mean, that's how people would be using them at home, right? The Blendtec has more horsepower - maybe to make up for there being no tamper and the 2 pronged blade design... and, with the Vitamix, you sometimes need the tamper - maybe because of the shape of the jar and the lower horsepower. Your varying the instructions seemed to interfere with the results IMHO.

You did not operate the Vitamix correctly. We make smooth, creamy peanut butter all the time in our Vitamix and it comes out perfectly. If you are going to do a review, instruct yourself in the proper operation of the equipment, otherwise your demonstrations will be invalid.

Terrible comparison. I've watched enough Blending With Henry videos to know that you're not supposed to use the tamper in a spinning motion, but rather a plunging motion. You moved the peanuts around and away from the blades, you're supposed to push the ingredients towards the blades.
