Have solace in that the 7th element video you are talking about didn't go viral until 2015. The video is from 2001 and he's had insane acclaim in russia and china among other nations. He's toured in America a few times as well. The video going viral is only good for him and led me and many others to a great appreciation and fandom for Vitas! Such a wonderful and characteristically odd rabbit hole to start a journey on!

For all the plain romantic pop music, the space fun of his silliness, his gimmick of going high with no in-between......and then this. If anyone is in doubt, here is an example. Two things to note here. One is his ability to go higher than the last time you said he topped out. Second is all the crazy noodling towards the end. He can fold that absurdity into top tier operatic vocal work and pull it off. Amazing.
