A continuation of the previous video where the motor was not tuned corretly, and cause motor outs and emergency landings. Here, I'm doing carburetor adjustments, and getting everything dialed in properly with the moster and walbro carb combo.

The best advise I got from this is to click on a super add so Kyle gets more money. Now this is something I can approve of.

Oh Kyle, you are super awesome. Let me rephrase that. You are totally awesome. If it weren't for covid, I'd shake your hand. Thank you sir. My last flight in the fall I flew next to a combine harvesting corn and the moster quit. I walked about 1 1/2 miles with 75 pounds on my back until a friend picked me up.

Its probably the same as the old carbureted jet skis. We just use a mini vaccum guage to adjust the spring pressure

Inevitably, when I have to do carburetor work, it's during a time crunch, and no time for video production....edit: I'll get to it someday!😎🍻

@@noneshere glidersports.com/shop/carb-pop-off-pressure-tester-vittorazi-moster-tool/ There are a few videos out there on how to use the tool. However, I think a Kyle O edutainment video on the subject would be sweet. 😎

Hey Kyle!! I watch all of your videos but I haven't seen you do a wing tip drag since a few years ago when you almost bit the dirt! Do you ever watch that video to get a cringe? You mean people still watch Super Duds videos? Blue skies and safe journeys!

I'm trying to diagnose a problem I am having with my MY20 Moster 185 plus. If I hold the motor at about 5400-5700RPMs for any more than a minute or two (my normal cruise power) it starts getting rough and then dies almost immediately. I have had so many motor out landings because of this. So far, I have changed out the primer bulb, carburetor, and fuel tank cap but it still happens. It only happens at that one RPM, lower RPMs up to about 5400 are fine and higher RPMs to full power are fine. I'm going to replace the fuel lines and clunk filter as well as testing without a fuel cap in case it's a venting problem.

@kyleoglee Turns out it was a faulty ignition coil. The primary coil must have a short in it, testing at only 0.7ohms. It should be between 1.2-2ohms. It started showing symptoms at only 5 hours and got progressively worse up to the 15 hours I have on it now. Lots of motor out landings, including one in an 8 foot high corn field in Jersey Shore PA. This was a real pain to track down, considering how new everything is and how mechanically simple an ignition coil is.

Kyle - you used to fly a Nitro200 - which is what I fly. In the quest to smooth out the mid-range on mine, I did the idle progression hole block, using a small strand of copper wire. It seemed to help, but I wonder if there is more to be had? Did you ever get the Nitro200 running as smoothly as this Vitto? The biggest issue I have, is that the mid-range on the Nitro is still a bit twitchy - making fine throttle control tedious and difficult - especially for footdrags. Thank you good sir!
@kyleoglee
@kyleoglee 3 жыл бұрын
Every 2 jet carb out there will have a crappy midrange. I remember my level thrust setting was past the mid on the Nitro, so I was able to maintain footdrags better. Also, letting trims out a bit will force a higher throttle position smoothing things out.

Oh he got the big motor. Suprised he cant adjust mixture & air screws while running. From weed whippers to jet skis, thats how Ive always done it. Keep twisting it rich till it 4 stroke bobbles then back it out a tad to smooth. Sometimes I even leave it slightly rich for cooling & lubrication purposes. On site small engine repair is how I make my cash today. Just rebuilt a whole new console up on a hurricane sally damaged pontoon boat with a 60 mercury 2 stroke.
